Seedling leaves curling and browning at the tips

Hey everybody, I am still on my first grow but I have started new seedlings in my mother tent. They are about 2 weeks old and are starting to brown at the tips and curling down. They were started in roots organic 707 soil and are under 4 4 foot 10000k cfls that I have going 24/7 and they as close as I can get them without touching. The temperature in my room stays between 70-79 and the humidity is between 45-60rh. One is a white widow(not autoflower) and the other is a cream caramel auto. Any info would be very helpful! Well in my limited knowledge I do know that plants perspire much like humans do. They draw water from the soil as a catalyst to bring up nutrients but what water that isn't used for expanding existing cell growth and new cell growth is at that point "sweated" off. Keeping the lights close actually helps evaporate the plants perspiration but, the draw back being if they are too close, the water that gets perspired can actually burn the plant at the tips (narrowest must susceptible burn pron area) and this is what I believe what is happening in your case.

That makes sense. I use phed water to mist them every few hours thinking that it would cool them down. I didn't think that that was potentially causing worse heat stress

Have you given them nutes yet. what your ph? If you have not given then nutes yet,I would say the lights are to close and they are getting burned.How many inche from the plants are your lights?

That looks like serious nute burn but if you havent fed yet then id say light burn?? :dance:

I haven't given them any nutes. The lights were about 2 inches away but I back them up a few inches

I think your lights were to close.Hold the back of your hand to wher the plant is touching your palm slightly and if the back of your hand can feel heat ther to close.Just move them enough wher you don't feel any heat.

I moved back my lights and the problem still seems to be getting worse. I thought that 707 was a good starting soil but is it possible it to hot for my seedlings?

That soil has guano's in it so yeah probably too hot for seedlings

Do you think they'll be alright? I encountered the same problem last time and had to flush them but I don't know if these ones could handle a flush yet
