Hi guys, I was just wondering what the solution would be for seedlings which are stretching? I appreciate that the soft light should be as close as possible to prevent this, but if this happens, where do we go from there?...I was guessing that maybe:- plant the seedling stem deeper into the soil or media?...Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

That is what I did once I transplanted from peat pot to the 3 liter containers. Buried them close to cotyledon I think this actually helped the root growth.

yeh bury it if youre replanting but its only a problem if it continues, make sure you have air circulating and the breeze will strengthen the stems aswell.

how much light are you using and what distance?

A little bit of stretch on seedlings isn't necessarily a bad thing. I like to let mine stretch till I have about 2 1/2 - 3" from the soil to the cotyledons. I find this keeps the lower leaves off the soil and keeps the bottom of the plant more open, providing better air circulation around the bottom of the plant. I keep my light up high till they reach the desired height, then lower it to the point where I can maintain about 1" node spacing.

Thank you so much guys and especially muddy well appreciated.
