Hi all

I'm no really used to growing autoflowers even though I've had a few runs.

I think I mightve made a mistake cramming 4 in an 80x80 but I'm on day 34 so managed thus far.

My problem being as you can see the pics it's overcrowding now and I don't know if I should defoliate or leave it be.

My heater is on the floor but the probe is above canopy and its only hitting 26c and hunidty is over 70% so I'm thinking the heat isn't rising due to the density

I just know what to do for the best with autoflowers and read you don't defoliate but surely this amount of greenery is a but much?

Advice appreciated Thanks

I just finished building you a custom dune-buggy, to help you get around in that forest. Many growers defoliate. Good luck.

I would strip all the major fan leaves away and if you can get another one of those tube heaters and hang it 16" above the canopy. This will help distribute the heat for you and just leave the other one on the floor to keep the roots warm. You might need to open the plants up a bit to get those bottom bud sites some extra light ;)

I recently went through this in a 2x4 (~61*122)...how's your Temp/RH? Are you going to have humidity/mold concerns in flower like I always do? If so, and you have flexible harvest needs...butcher them to where you need to be. I wish I'd taken more off my autos at your stage on healthy plants, including some node branches, to worry about environment less...and I took a bunch off, multiple times:

Hi all

It seems ages since I posted as ive alot going on, changing jobs getting loose ends tied up and having to deal with car issues!!

Anyway I took the plunge and did a massive defoliation earlier this week. I wasn't sure if I did the right thing or not but I can now see it was the best decision I made

Thus has opened alot of flower sites and things are going well, I'll get back to my 2 diaries and do some updates how things have been but here's a quick pic of how things are today day 40

I know looking at the pics you might think I thought he said he did a massive defoliation lol I did hahaha it keeps growing, plus I think im cramping the space with to many plants but it is 80x80 so I thought 4 would be OK. Saying that my monster amaretto filled the tent out lol

When you defoliate a plant will start pushing more leaves to "make up" what it lost but it definitely helps in the long run, better light penetration, better light at bud sites. More air flow yada yada. Plants look happy and thats all that matters
