This whole rep thing has been a sore spot for a while now...blame it on the Bud Warriors!!! Get rid if it and people will find something else to whine about,if others cant tell good advice from BS their grows are destined to fail,i have asked and continue to ask advice,theres very few times i take the answer as gospel without considering all the advice,ive gotten and given rep for posting something really funny,sharing extract or training techniques,also for sharing advice or ideas, ive documented and finished multiple grows,i have a High stress training thread that anyone is welcome to add to,ive been adding ,updating and contributing to threads in the hash forum,there are many of us that do the "behind the scenes" work to continue to build and improve the site..regardless of how many points you have,somebody thought you earned them and thats why you have them,you cant rep yourself....for the good of the site..lets get rid of the point system..just my thoughts,but as we can all see,on a site with over 20k people,the decision will be based on the opinions of a few..hope this dont come across wrong ,just my thoughs..

what's happening that has affected rep is groups getting together and repping the hell outa each other to amass points they don't necessarily deserve, the same issue I have with BOM/POM, its more often a popularity contest than a fair competition.

If reputation points are supposed to determine the value or credibility of a member for or by other members, and it is also given or awarded by these same members, how is it being abused? Aren't those same members the best to determine another members "value" ?

A post can only be repped once by a member. If you want more rep... Participate more! I think participation is valuable!!

Why should one person or several persons decide what is meaningful or valuable for everybody. What if I have a question about site navigation but reputation points are based on the number of plants a person has harvested while being a member or per year while a member... (which btw is completely unfair to our seasonal growers) how do I know who to ask? What is valuable in one scenario is not in others.

One of the things that makes AFN so amazing is the ability of its members to accept each others differences and create an eclectic garden of the most fabulous pot ever!

I'm not sure that's a path I want to see AFN go down tbh. I am a new member but I love AFN just as much as anybody else here.

Thanks to all of you and what Ive learned in the short time I've been here, I'm pretty sure I'm growing some AWESOME pot right now!!

yeah always thought easy and consistency was the key imo. but could not agree more. Oh I went after one well known guy on the tube some time ago.he's no longer around. thats exactly what sets growers apart.

I love being able to rep the people that helps me that does awesome journals I follow from beggining to end you folks have helped me decide on every purchase I've made and have never been steered wrong way.( It's not hard to figure out the folks with experience)
You can and I do say thank you to them being able to rep makes me feel they know they are respected by me.
I don't go out throwing reps everywhere I think I'm very fair with it.
I'm new here I don't care how many reps someone has ( I'm a adult)
There will always be folks who abuse the things we have but why hurt us.
I've been here long enough to see how folks group together.
I got to say every person from these groups that I've asked for help has did so.
So no I say no don't change it over a few cry babies.
No offense meant but real upset something so petty was even brought up by some.
I joined here because EVERY other site like this has nothing but terrible human beings.
Let's not loose AFN over something so small.
