hey guys have an 8 inch rvk but its way too loud for my liking, anyone any recommendations ?

TD-SILENT
8 Inch In Line Duct Extractor Fan - Silent 800m3/hr claims to run at 19 db but pricey at around£240

manrose 200t- 855m3/hr runs at 48db but has high and low settings and is less than half price at around £110

any other decent options I should be looking at, or does anyone use either of these, any input greatly appreciated

I have a TD 500 which I run at low speed for a rated 17dB. It is super silent and I'm very happy with it. The Fans in the LED's makes more noise.

I looked long and hard, for the wattage/capacity/dB, the Silent series is unmatched by any other fan I looked at. If the good folks here will ship to outside The Netherlands, you will get a fair saving http://www.installand.nl/shop/ventilatie/ventilatoren/buisventilatoren/

Thanks for the input corgy. Appreciate it mate :d5:

Can't speak for the bigger ones, but I run the S&P TD-100X and it runs really quiet. Had a little bit of vibration noise with mine on high speed, but I'm bolting to a wall that's plaster over drywall so can't crank down the mounting bolts as tight as I'd like. Put a little foam mouse pad wrist rest I had lying around wedged between the fan and the ceiling and the vibration buzz stopped. Little hum inside the closet and from outside the only noise is the air flow rushing out the vent.

I have the Vortex Silent Line fan it you can just barely hear it. Also check out the Blauberg silent fans

I have a Can Fan Max-Fan Pro Series 420 CFM 6-inch fan. It is very quite, with it and a carbon filter in the tent and a Phresh muffler and ducting connected outside. This is Can Fan's premium product line. It is mostly hyped for its efficiency, and as a by-product it is well-engineered and quiet (or seems by my limited experience). It's about $155 delivered (Amazon, US). Other "quiet" fans I considered at the time cost significantly more.

Having listened to a less powerful Vortex S in the local hydro shop (comparing them with nothing connected), that seemed louder and less solid.

I have a eight inch in line hurricane it is was pretty loud I use a carbon filter match to the fan I run the fan directly into the filter and straight out. What I did to reduce the decibels by half was to turn a 25 foot piece of 8 inch ducting into a silencer I compressed it as hard as possible I used duct tape to hold it together I stuck it in the tent exhaust hole right up against the fan I duct taped it in the hole to keep in place. Here is a picture it really works IMO IMG_2032.JPG
