In addition to the hygrozyme, I also just purchesed the ingredient to brew a beneficial microbe tea. I was hesitant of using anyyhing organic, but this sterike res thing simply isnt workin.. H2o2 and bucket cleaning puts dent in the rot for a day, and then it comes back backfor me like I fucked its mother...

Hopefully if this tea manages to fight off the pythium I will start 2 think differents in DWC buckets next week. Otherwise I will do a few northern lights in coco and hold off on DWC untik temps drop aroumd september

Awesome man! Congrats on getting everything up and running. Im just waiting another week or two that way I can have all of my crops spaced out nicely.

Make certain no light gets into your res. that one mistake has had me fighting a fucking war ever since lol. Are you going to be doing a sterile res, or will you be using beneficial bacteria?

So this root issue I have been fighting, after doing more research I have discovered that it wasn't actually pythium (Until Later). Originallly, the roots were covered with this clear shit, which I earlier described as troll snot. It turns out that this is cyanobacteria, also known as Brown Slime Algae (Although, Ironically, it is not actually algae).

Apparently this stuff strikes people randomly, even in ideal conditions. Sterilization techniques and a setup even when dialed in can be attacked by this stuff out of nowhere. Treating with H2O2 slowed the problem down temporarily, but it always came back with increased hostility. After alot of research, I realized that the ONLY way to fight this stuff is with beneficial bacteria. I only wish I had come to this conclusion a bit earlier. I bought all of the stuff that I need to brew my own tea to start my beneficial microbe militia to prepare for war.

That being said, everything else seems to be going well. I started feeding the babies at 1/8 strength nutes and they are responding nicely. I will water them every 2 or 3 days to allow the coco to dry out a bit so the roots can go searching.

The Critical Jacks haven't been putting on very much vertical height. I thought that it was because they had been stunted from the heavy root damage and transplant, but it appears they have been putting their energy into bud production. I haven't introduced bloom nutes yet, does this seem early? On the taller critical jack, I have counted 25 formed buds that are about the size of the tip of my thumb. I added one of my 130w LEDs and placed it 6 inches from the side of the CJ's and lowered my HPS to under a foot from the tops.

They started to exhibit some signs of Calcium / Magnesium deficiency, which I was anticipating after the switch to coco since I had no calmag in the nutes. I added a half dose of it, and have since fed them twice. On my CJ that has been getting her ass kicked, I have noticed two little roots which have already found their way to the bottom of her small 2 gallon bucket and are poking through the drainage holes. So it looks like her roots are atleast active and getting aclimated to their new environment. How she is still alive is beyond me lol

The white widow looks like she is about to show her preflowers. Her secondary branches have caught up in height to her main cola, and she is rounding out nicely. Lower leaves never recovered, but I'm not worried about it. New growht looks good. The leaves are a bit dry because of high termperatures, and she has some slight droop which I am attributing to the root issue. There is still some browning of the roots which I am trying to keep at bay with H2O2 for the next few days until my beneficial microbes are ready to fight. I have noticed new growth in the roots though, which is nice and white.

I'm just gonna stick with advanced nutrients sensi grow and the hobbyists bundle. Awaiting nutes and ph up/down (though u hear lemon juice works for going down) from Amazon and then I'm good to go to start germination. I'm finishing up the dwc buckets today. I also need to grab a few fans from the hardware store.

To eliminate worries about pathogens in the res, I'm gonna focus on keeping res temps cool with ice packs. I tried getting a portable ac but two problems occurred - it drew too much power from the circuit in my room and always flipped the fuse (though I suppose I could get a higher amp fuse), and also dealing with the exhaust proved problematic..... Really needed dual hose system. Looks like that's going right back to Craigslist.

So for now, I just fans to keep things cool. Indoor temps don't get much above 80 but inside my tent I get temps up to about 88 with both LEDs running, the exhaust fan, and the two air pumps.

Those nutrients are already ph balanced... Adding ph up/down would be pointless and could probably even hurt your plants

Yeah my tent is sitting at 84 but there were two days where it spiked to 88, the ice packs were just too much hassle for me. Res stayed around 74. I upgraded my air pump which has helped a metric fuckton. Those aquarium pumps were not cutting it. I have a 110w commercial pump and the res is like a jacuzzi. The roots have responded since putting it in (Other than the night it got disconnected :no. but im hoping these bennies will get this under control. You should really consider usng beneficial microbes. This root rot is no joke. You are asking for trouble with those temps

I have two Charles Austen 100 lpm pumps. have one running into three buckets and it really does work wonders. The water temp stays low compares to the ambient temp. Pretty cool.
