New Grower Skatters perpetual DWC/Coco Grow Show

I can temporarily delete the whole thread & restore it later if you want mate :smokebuds: your safety is always the most important thing bro :smokeit:

That would be great if you could do that for me, I would really appreciate it. Possibly I will start a seperate thread with the situation to gather some feedback. Thanks alot guys! What section would it even go in? You don't seem to have a security section but I also don't want to be spreading fear and paranoia like the local news lol. I think there is a concern that needs to be adressed right now though, especially regarding seeds.

After that little security scare I wanted to keep my head down for a little while incase there was some sort of follow up. Regular post man was back, and its been about two weeks and nothing else has popped up. I managed not to chop them down in the heat of the moment, and decided that regardless, I will take this harvest to maturity and then decide how I want to play my cards. It took every ounce of willpower I had to not take a chainsaw to everything just to be safe, lol. Hopefully I'm in the clear, but who knows with all of this NSA Bullshit. Paranoia is the spice of life, or something like that. Anyway... Its been two weeks since the last update, and alot has happened!

The two smallest plants in the 1 gallon pots are Photoperiods (Critical sensi star, and Faraono). I plan to veg them out until I harvest my autos, and then take a bunch of clones from them. I plan on attempting to create a bonsai mother for each out of the clones, for practice and to ensure that I have some genetics to work with until I can find a secure location to order seeds to. For now they are just kind of sitting off to the side preparing.

My three other younger autoflowering plants have grown a ton since my last update. They didn’t seem to be slowed down whatsoever after I transplanted them into 3 gallon coco pots. Things with these ladies have been going much more smoothly, and haven’t had any issues with any of them sofar. I definitely learned how to handle the plants after my adventures with the first batch I planted. Fingers crossed. They are 28 days old currently. Next feed I will attempt to give them full strength veg nutes and see if they can handle it. They are growing rapidly and I want to see if they can handle all that I can give them.

My oldest 3 plants are now in the flowering phase, budding and frosting up very nicely. Its hard to see the tricombs under the HPS but its getting nice and sticky in there. I’ll make sure to move them under the MH light for some nicer images at some point soon. The two critical Jacks in coco are about 48 days old, and the white widow in DWC is about 40.

The first images are of the bride of Frankenstein. This bitch has been through everything, I expected her to die a month ago and now it appears to be quite healthy. I had applied Colloidal silver to her for like 4 days before stopping in anticipation of her death. A few weeks later much to my surprise… BALLS. All of her side branches started popping up with nut sacks, and the main stem is full of buds. I resumed my CS treatment for a few days, and the nut sacks have continued to swell up nicely. I plucked some of the balls off of her/it, harvested some pollen, and applied it to a couple of bud sites on each of my plants. Currently she is still in the main tent, but with no fans on. I wonder if this is a bad idea or not. Ive been plucking the balls as they get ripe but im hoping with little air movement that I will get alot of seeds and alot of buds. I want both.... Hopefully the seeds dont hurt the yield too much though. we will see I guess

Something very interesting has been happening with her this week though. Pistils have begun sprouting out of the branches which had the pollen sacks. She appears to be turning back into a female. Even more exciting is that I have noticed that the tips of a few of these pistils are brown already. I’m inclined to believe that as the pistils began to form, they penetrated and pierced their way through the established pollen sacks, and pollinated themselves. I am going to watch her closely and see if she develops fully formed buds which may be seeded. I never throught I would be into chicks with dicks, but I continue to surprise myself. I’m super excited about the prospect of getting a ton of seeds, especially for this critical jack which is my medication of choice. This particular plant seems to be immune to death, as well as showing some 11 fingered fan leaves. Very exciting.

The more “Traditional” female critical jack has been budding up very nicely. Buds feel pretty dense already, and the fan leaves are getting covered in tricombs. I figure she has about 3-4 weeks left, but I’m going to ride her out as long as I need to. She has shown some signs of cal/mag deficiency this last week, which is pretty common in coco coir. I’m just going to make sure I up the cal/mag to around 7ml per gallon and monitor her closely.

The white widow has been showing some nitrogen clawing after I had upped her feed, but I just transitioned her to bloom nutes so I’m hoping that it subsides. She is rounding out nicely, and the side branches have basically caught up to the main cola. The root system is thriving in the bucket but I will need somebody else to help me get a picture of it. Perhaps next update.

Edit: Whoops, forgot the most important part. Pics!

Heres some more. First three pics are flower shots of the critical jack. 4th image is the White Widow which has some nitrogen clawing going on right now, and the 3 younger plants which are 28 days old.

Nice!!

So which do you prefer? DWC or coco?

Also, what blend of coco/perlite are you using (if you're using one)?

Those pots are pure coco except for a few layers of hydroton at the bottom of the pot. I will try perlite next run to see how I like the results.

Sofar Im in love with the coco. Those plants are only in 3 gallon pots but they are growing VERY nicely. The DWC is just such a hassle if your doing more than a couple plants... I would rdwc but i will always do perpetual / multi strain so hat isnt an option for me.

I plan on doing almost exclusively coco from here on out. The only exceptiom being 1 or 2 Super autos lioe think different since DWC still provides the best growth. Coco is amazing though

How are you running the cocos in terms of nutes and watering?

I was thinking of finding a set it and forget it type of system. Autopots plus coco maybe. Much easier...

Drain to waste, feed at standard hydroponic levels once or twice a day at this point, every few days at the beginnning.Im sure standard drip lines would work very well but Ill stick to hand watering for a while.
