Both seem to be recovering from my overwatering mistake albeit stunted in growth IMO, the CDLC more than the Skylar. I haven’t given any water since last Saturday, so it’s been 6 days now. Gave them each a half gallon at that time, so I’ll probably give them a quarter gallon instead mixed with the first round of nutrients at 25% strength.
So I ended up watering them with .5gal each mixed with .25 teaspoon GrowBig. I figured they are larger than last time, so may be able to handle the same amount of water better. This should last a good few days without touching them again. So far, they’re responding nicely. I checked them at the start of the 4 hour dark period and they were drooping again. Then I checked again right when the light period started and they had perked back up nicely.
Day 21 update - both looking good all things considered. CDLC is lacking height, which for a strong indica is expected but this is reaaaaally lacking height. I’m going to try to LST via tie down on the Skylar tonight, but I don’t think I can or should do anything to CDLC at this point.
Preflower has started up nicely, I took the opportunity to try to LST the Skylar because it had decent height and stem thickness and I felt confident in doing it. I applied that a couple days ago. She’s drinking quicker than the CDLC, I gave her another half gallon watering today with .25tsp Grow Big.
Skylar White, Day 23
The Creme de la Chem is chugging along and getting fatter leaf, I can sort of see the start of preflower I think. This is going to end up small probably, but hoping to get something more decent off of the other. I’ve learned a lot already for the next round. She’s still moist on the bottom (that’s what she said), so I’m holding off on watering this one a while longer.
Skylar is a beast. She really came alive the last week. I’ve been adjusting the ties almost every day to keep the main stem down, it’s hard to secure because of all the room in the pot (learned that lesson) and the overall height of the plant. But daily adjustments seem to be working, I’m just using traditional garden tie and binder clips to the rim of the fabric pot.
CDLC just got watered last night so she’s looking a little droopy but she’ll recover as she dries it seems like. Only gave her a half gallon, first time in a week and she was bone dry. Also fed with .25tsp of Grow Big.
I was adjusting the ties on Skylar and got smacked in the face with a wonderful scent. She smells up close real nice stopped trying to LST the CDLC because of its size and the amount of room in the pot making it difficult to really get tied down. Maybe when she gets a little taller.
Skylar is poised to have about 8 decent colas by the looks of this one. There’s another developed one in the back not visible in the photo.
CDLC gets bushier and bushier every time I tie her main stem down. I can’t tie it too much, she’s still not tall enough for that - she just keeps getting wider. If I peel away her top leaves, she has 4 or 5 smaller nodes all bunched around the center stem, so exposing that is helping so I tied the main one down again; this photo is before that adjustment. When I was done, she was getting great light underneath. She was bone dry today so I fed 1 gal with .5tsp Grow Big. I noticed after I fed and tied her down she is barely starting to preflower, so I will move to Tiger Bloom on her next feeding.
