Lighting Small Experiment. Input welcome...

It’s common to underestimate these lights. I still do it myself. To help explain the power a little, these are very close if not more par/light than most “300” watt leds available. The most important thing is it’s all coming from a 22mm cob and not a big 9x11 panel with spread out leds. It’s hard to expect plants to get super big if they are being over powered for long hours each day. If you didn’t I would suggest cutting the hours too. Most shorter plants I see are run under 24 hours of light per day.

Gots a question about that power. I have a 2x2x3 foot tent I use for breeding and starts. Currently have some clones and seedlings in there and my old T5s ballast died. So I had the extra autocob and knowing I could burn them all up I put the autocob in there anyway and hiked it all the way to the top. So maybe 24 inches of clearance from the top of the babies to the actual COB. I did put all the plants as far to the sides of the tent to not have the COB shining down directly on them. After three days the seedlings are looking pretty good. The clones were just put in yesterday and are recovering from the process but they are not folding away from the light.

Anyhow, for the question. How strong is the PAR at two feet? In addition, should these young ladies be doing this well, that close to the light?

I am curious how big that fan/filter is that sits in the the corner. They look quite large.

:crying:Yea it’s a little overkill for that tent but works well and I don’t need it elsewhere yet. Here is the info on it.
Amazon product ASIN B019XGK6BYAnd yes, it’s on the speed controller on very low.
