Mephisto Genetics SODK in a Bigger Hempy pot

Very nice plant Roasty! 1/4 pounder coming right up! :vibe:
Day 42, seems she might be slowing down the stretch and focusing on flowers. Started her on bloom additives about a week ago, probably a tad early. Raised the lights to near maximum, and culled my first plant (Critical Bilbo) cause she wouldn't stop stretching. She had light wispy flowers that were already turning orange from being too close to the lights. she's probably 4.5 feet tall. She also started bolting.

Thanks for looking.

Bigger Roots = Bigger Fruits :drool:Above 10 liters and diminishing returns kick in, from what I have seen with coco hempys. The Dali Hempy grew his sati trees in 10 liter buckets. :growing:

Thanks pepe, I'm getting around a qp on 2 liter Hempy's, this one is 3-4 times bigger pot. Hopefully it translates similarly in yield.

I never use any pots over 2gal with straight Coco. Plants yield amazing, anything more is a waste of Coco. But you must have the ability to do multiple waterings per day or have an automated system. They flush way better in smaller pots vs large pots anyhow.

I actually was just wondering about doing my next round in two gallon smart pots. I'd like to yield shorter smaller plants but more variety .

Agreed 10 liters is 2.5 gallons so you get a full 2 gallons medium and a 2 liter hempy res.

I have been growing in Coco for a VERY long time, I have done hundreds of plants in various setups. Personally I do not like Smart Pots, the fabric holds salts and makes flushing take longer IMO. Plastic pots with or without air-pruining abilities yield just as well and flush better/Faster. However, plastic pots dry out faster than Smart Pots. I have multiple gardens, some I hand water, some I have Halo Rings that spray for 30 seconds 5-6 times per day, some with 2.2 gal Autopots. The fact is plants that grow in Coco actually prefer to have multiple or constant feeding daily. Coco should be treated like hydro, Yet it is much better. You can grow massive plants in crazy small container using straight Coco in 80-85f temps and they will flourish if you just can keep up on the watering. Try doing DWC in a 2 Litre bucket in 80-85f temps... BTW great job Roasty! Way to show everyone how it's done with your hempy's. You might wind up preferring your smaller hempy's...smaller plants have Less waste. Bigger plants in Coco need a lot more training, topping, LST, etc otherwise certain plants/strains will stretch more than you are used to or prefer to. Plus you might actually yield more using smaller hempy's, considering the amount of space a large plants takes up. I know how big plants can get in Coco, sometimes too big!

What matters most is what works best for each growers wants/needs. Personally for me using 2 gal of straight Coco is ideal to grow a plant in. I have a set of 8gal AutoPots containers that are shrink wrapped still, I bought the 2.2 gal to replace them. I could grow 4 plants with 8 gal of Coco...Roasty could grow 16 plants! Trust me Roasty, 16 of your 2l hempy's will out yield 1 plant in 8gal of Coco!!! Btw, anyone need some 8 gal AutoPot containers? Brand new, I will seriously never use them, that is the size they came with, I paid extra for smaller containers... Ha
