What is a good soil to use. My first grow did not go so well. I was using sinshine mix#4. I am new to indoor growing so I probably should have did an easier grow to start off with. I would like to get a decent grow under my belt instead of growing with a soilless mix where I would have to give the plant all its nutrients. I am looking for a soil that's not going to cook the auto in its growth. I am going to grow auto Skunk#1 and auto Northern Lights. Any advice would help. I know I will have to give nutrients to the plant later on in life but would like something that the plant would be able to feed on for at least a couple of weeks before I start to feed it.

Are you in a hurry to get started?I ask because a good soil recipe will literally do exactly that....feed your plant for you if you have a decent recipe and some basic ACT skills..which are beyond simple.but if not,you can make one of the few really nice recipes and cook it and just literally water it,and feed it one or twice a month ,short of water.But if you are,I would recommend anything from a pricey Organic yet mellow mix,like Michigan Peat 2 part mix,or even one of the two organic miracle grow soils that I too use.EWC and some very light doses of various things n let it blend for a couple weeks and you should be just fine with a few weeks easy,as well as ya could push it even further if you hit it with a tea at that point too.

Fox Farms Soil(s) have had quality control issues as of late.Only one type I think, the, ocean forest I believe it is.someone will correct me if Im wrong,or Id prolly tell ya to use that with a quality seedling mix and use the plug style of planting.that'd prolly work well for a few weeks easy past sprouting.the other two brnds are said to do rather well too,but dont know enough about em.tkae it easy dude."AFN smoke out""AFN smoke out"

Pro-mix hp is soiless but it has enough starter nutes to get ya up and going for a few weeks. Sunshine Mix #4 is a great mix, and is what i have used in the past. Both great. Fox Farms ocean forest is a good mix. Cut 1/2 & 1/2 with Fox Farms Light warrior for a great, light mix with enough nutes to take you into week 3-4, BUT, like Eyes has said, has had issues with their quality and bug problems. I would use the sunshine or pro-mix myself. Adding nutes early or later will make you a better grower, to tailor what the plant needs.
