New Grower Soil mix waiting for new plants...

I didn't actually plan to make a full supersoil, more like a half-assed sligthly improved soil, heheh.. But organic growing has grown (ha ha) on me lately, so maybe that will be a project for next summer..!

yeah man..thats a funky wee one no doubt! No worries man..we'll get ya sorted out..just add the lime and make sure the soil is new and looks and smells decent..dont have to be expensive or fancy n crap like that..Just fair quality..add what i mentioned like the lime n molasses and cal-mag additive and let it sit for a week or two and plug plant or tier and start em with like LK or Big bloom at partial strength ,like 15-20% mix to filtered or RO water if ya got either.n that right there Id bet will give to 10X the yeild your getting now..fact!And it'll taste really good too..organic I wanna redo it myself..but its good man..What pots ya using man? i dont recall...size? drain holes ,color n such..outdoor balcony grow? maan I aint messed with flytraps in soooo many years..damn I feel old..them and orchids man..I used to play with them years back...cool stuff.yer traps'll thank ya for a better soil too..LOL!!"AFN smoke out"

7 liters (1.8 gallon) square, black pots, with drain holes.

During the summer now they have been mostly outdoors on my balcony, inside under a 250W dual spectrum CFL on overcast days.

I have mostly given up on my two youngest ones too, but I'll be keeping them anyway. As I said, nothing gets thrown away here, heheh..

I think I have fixed their soil now, as to the overwatering and ph issue, but as you can se the damage is already done and I don't expect them to get any bigger than they are, much like what happened to my two super-abused microscopic NL photo plants.

Yeah, the flytrap is cool, my kid pestered me to buy one when we visited a garden centre, but I've come to like it very much.

Especially because of her super awesome wasp eating skills! I have a phobia for wasps and other stinging insects in general, I was so glad to see that her "filled" pods consisted mostly of wasps, even though one of them had tried to chew or sting its way out of her grasp, heheh..

I'll be reading up on them a bit more, figure out what they like in terms of type of soil and such.. Would be cool to get a huge flytrap, heheh..

Thats good to hear that your soil is on the mend man..if your black pots are mostly outside and in direct sun for any length in the afternoon sun..use some latex white paint or covering thats comparable so to keep from cooking n heating up your roots as bad.or even hot days..its always a good idea to haze them white or full one white to slap out some of that heat thats transfering to your root mass man.so give that a go..totally help your grow next round..or even indoors in a hot tent er whatever..its the little things that add up to make a successful grow.Heres to getting yer soil fixed man.:pass:

Yeah, I initially wanted white pots, because both inside and outside the temps run pretty hot in summer, but there seemed to be a consensus that white pots let trough too much light to the roots.....

I've never experienced problems with light reaching my roots in white pots. it shouldn't be a problem.

I was just reffering to the reflective nature and heat reflective nature of the color white and heat..not actually UV type rays hitting the roots.Sorry if I confused ya on that man..lol
