New Grower Soil test

will lunar phases affect a plant that is deep in the bowels of a basement surrounded artificial high intensity lights?

yep :check: thats the one HG... :smokeit:

yeah, that site blows my mind... :smokeit:

yes joe... the moon moves oceans... your basement can't stop that...

gravity among other forces at work there... :check:

An Accurate 8 can be far from what the name suggests. Mine never worked at all.
Run off tests are not accurate either apparently.
Ive bought a Blue Labs soil metre as my last hope in monitoring soil PH. If Im honest, after trying everything on the market I dont have a lot of confidence it will work properly.

Seems to me no one really has a handle on PH in soil.
Its some kind of dark art that can never be mastered.
Watching a few of the top growers around I notice they rarely have PH problems.
Experience has taught them to choose the right soil to start with and they never look back.

Very best with what ever works for you! :)
Just my 2 cents.

Thanks True.
I kind of came up with the same conclusion'
I am just going to get it as close to 6.5 as my meters can tell me then make sure I ph my water and hope for the best.

True, just because you got a bad one is no reason to put them down. You should have returned it for a replacement immediately. In my experience, it's the most accurate soil pH probe I've used. I've not tried a Blue Labs so I can't compare it, but I find mine to be very accurate and reliable. If I had the money I'd buy a gross of them and pass them out to all the new growers. They are a wonderful tool that can save a lot of time and potentially save a failing grow.

pH isn't that difficult to understand. At it's most basic it's just a scale and you're measuring where your soil falls on that scale. After that it's just taking the necessary steps to raise or lower it, depending on your particular situation. Granted, having good soil from the start helps, but even people who have bought things like Fox Farms Ocean Forest with a pH of 4.5 have been able to address it and still have successful grows.
