I think I may be heading towards similar problems as my first grow this year. As autos progress they seem to (or at least mine have) start looking much more ropey and less healthy. I reckon on these being around 7/8 weeks. I do not recall such issues with the photo plants I grew last year. Plants are outdoors not under lights.

When it is hot I water and feed somewhere between 2-3 days. Last night I thought they looked very deep green on the top leaves despite generally haveing less grow nutes. I calle my organic tomato feed grow as it has more nitrogen. I give 2ml of bloom (Biobizz) and 1ml of organic tomato feed (N-P-K / 4-2-6). This afternoon they were watered about 2pm and fed with bloom and a dab of molasses. (no grow added) This evening I noticed... one pure orange/brown rust spot on one leaf on a bud leaf and a large fan leaf starting to look more yellow along all the serations. Pots are around 7-8L in size and I have been feeding using 1l bottles.

I have auto wappa in 7l pots and 1 x northern lights auto in a 5l pot.

I fed and watered 1L to the NL thereabouts as it dries out quicker than the other 2 cause it is in a 5l pot. And 3L total between the 2 auto wappa.

This is similar to what started happening before on my last grow, many of the very tips on buds got crispy and crumbled in my finger tips last time. Additionally I have spotted some very yellow leaves on the bottom of each plant. I took these off as they looked very dry and a bit dried out.

I thought this might be yellowing because of nitrogen deficiency due to only using bloom and molassses on my last feed. So I fed them a 1l of bloom feed between the 3 of them. (not 1l each)

Not sure if this was a good or bad idea.

I also wonder if I am feeding too often and whether I should be only giving plain water every other feed.

All nutes thus far are pure organic, no chemcial nutes.

I do wonder at this stage if there is a salts build up which I have heard that can happen. I feel this is a very tricky time and am not sure quite what to do.

Any ideas ?

Seems early for them to be dying off/getting decrepid even though they are 8 weekers according to there breeders. The buds are developing but I feel they have quite a long time to go. The auto wappa has a reasonable amount of rtichs and the NL fewer (I think that is also strain related) The auto wappas pistils are browning and very few are browning with the Northern lights so they are far from ripe yet.

Thanks I will try and get some pictures up very soon of the problem areas of the plants and a pic so you can gaugae size of plant etc. If someone could pop in instructions on how to upload photos that would be great ! Can they be hosted on site or do they have to be hosted off site and linked to. I have never uploaded pics here.

You may be able to see the leaves look very dry as well, not lush, leaves seem a little crispy. No lights used just outdoors in the day in the sun or cloud depending on how it is. They have had lots of sun in the last 4 weeks. I noticed on my early auto grow the leaves did not look lush after 6-7 weeks. Do auto fan leaves tend to get dry and look weathered after 7 weeks ?

Any help would be great.

I am gonna guess... it is either a deficiency or a nute burn.

They are in compost.

All nutes are organic using filtered water.

(filtered water, about 1/4 teaspoon of molasses per litre, Biobizz organic Bloom and organic tomato feed (N-P-K / 4-2-6). as my veg nutes which I have used much less of recently)

I just do not want to mess these ones up.

thx

could be nute burn but im not 100% on that
a friend of mine is growing nl outside and was having a similar problem which was down to heat stress after moving them to a slightly shaded area they picked up nicely
now don't hold me to this im no expert in sure 1 of the more knowledgeable guys will have a more accurate answer for you good luck bro

Looks like a calmag def to me mate (round yellow/browning blotches)

If this is the case, you could foliar feed her by spraying her with a light solution of epsom salts and water (1 teaspoon per gallon if i recall (i'll try and double check that for you - never done it))
Or get some calmag to add to your normal feeding regime (again, i need to check the dosage - I'll be back!) ^_^

Just my thoughts
Blue ^_^

Edit: I'm sure i've read muddy tell people how to foliar feed epsom salts about 100 times, but can't find one now and can't remember. I looked elsewhere and the best i could find is 1 teaspoon per gallon.
I also read to feed liquid calmag, you should add a teaspoon per gallon. i Think that works out about 5ml so just about 1ml per litre

Double Edit: I asked one of my AFN buddies (one of the best growers here(in my opinion)) for some good advice on calmag dosage

I would go 2ml per L for folar spray or if it was early stages of def ie a few brown spots and if 2ml didn't fix it I would increase to 3 or even 4ml per L. I wouldn't go over 2ml per L for folar feeding though.
..credit to TaNg for the advice!

Hey you guys are the best thanks ! Ok I guess Epsom salts from the pharmacy ? Such nice people and replies.

I was also wondering about heat stress, yesterday was 30C here and full direct sun. It could have stressed it a bit. I move my plants
so they are in full sun all day (if it is out in Northern Europe that is and luckily it has been quite a bit recently) I guess in nature they would not be in direct sun all day so maybe a double pronged approach might be a plant. Today is much cooler sun in and out all the time with some cloud cover but the problem does seem to be progressing which probably rules out the heat cause it;s 24C and that is spot on for herb as I gather. (though maybe hotter in direct light.) I have very slight browning at the ends of some leaves. Last time I grew I had this and they went crispy on the end and crumpled off dry as my finger tip touched them. I never let the rain get on them not sure if that makes any difference, I fear bud rot if that happens.

I will research where to find Epsom Salts in the UK and apply ASAP, that certainly cannot do harm at this later stage in the plants life.
thx again !

I do have something called Alg-a-mic from Biobizz not quite sure what it is (a booster?) I will check and see if this has calcium and magnesium in it. It;s a new bottle and I did not open and use it yet.

People say Alg-a-mic is awesome for plant health. If i recall it's seaweed extract.

We have a biobizz expert here called Uncle Si - i'll see if i can fish out (ho-ho-ho) his thread on it.
I'll be back with a link

^_^

Edit. Hey.. that was easy ^_^ here's a very useful part of the thread for you

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ALG-A-MIC
The seaweed five-principle effect on plant growth:
- Immune system: improves the plant’s ability to withstand certain levels of environmental stresses and reduce the attacks and flare-ups of sap-sucking insect pests on the plants.
- Chlorophyll: provides greater maintenance of chlorophyll, leading to greener plants.
- Microbes: serves as a source of food for beneficial and benign soil bacteria, resulting in a large increase in microbe numbers.
- Nematodes: helps reduce nematode damage. This includes a reduction in hatching and a disorientation or simple ‘burn-out’ of immature nematodes (J2s), minimizing root penetration.
- Frost initiates or speeds up the acclimatization process even when the plant is not subjected to cold stress. This allows plants to tolerate greater levels of cold, reducing the amount of damage.

Double Edit.

Here's some Liquid Calmag available in the UK
