Salutations Troon,

I feel as if this website/forum is a smaller community than some... ...as if the community members and staff are a family...

M'well, sometimes quality is easier to find in manageable-size packages after all...

Perhaps there were times when AFN needed to pick up some speed but i got rather good impressions this morning as i found 9 pages of recent stuff to read which wasn't older than 2 days ago, with real follow-up content and sexy pictures to match, etc. As a lurker with no on-line "family" anywhere i don't seek much anymore, except to find stimulating on-line resources with as few strings attached as possible (e.g. just some room to breath, the basics) - and considered from where i stand it seems the site has that to offer, while i doubt i'd feel this much at peace in most other places elsewhere: for example, once in a while as i wander around on the net i still experience events of "Drama Queen" (forged reputation) imports up to 7 years after a fight and quite typically those are times when a member becomes the topic (...) simply to escape the need to address relevant points of a discussion (for some guys it's more convenient/satisfying to just "kill the messenger"), etc. Remember, this is the InterNet.

...

So, in all honesty, i find AFN ranks well in terms of relative serenity today and hence i wouldn't know for sure what it needs to envy next. IMO respect is a nice basic value to promote and it works good enough as a substitute for any temporary sense of "family" i've once observed out there in cyberspace. Good for you if you get both! In any case i understand you feel at home and to me it's nice to observe hapiness in the neighbourhood. Well done!

:toke:

Good day, have fun!! :peace:

Hi friends
I got a idea, why not make a wiki with the stickis. In my old tech forum we got the same problem and that was the solution for us.

We do it that way. 3 Members got the first right to write in the wiki write in all the stickis.
If all is done user can get the right to write new article.
We at afn are international and we can translate it in different languages.
in the next year i got more time and i be able to help setup the wiki.

@AFN team contact me per pm if you need help or want to know how we manage these things.

Hey tobe, thanks for the offer! We talked about a wiki once upon a time so that may be something we can consider down the near future road! You still working on that book of yours?

Hey SoH
i lost all my data for the book, and i think about start again, but if we write a wiki, i didn't start again and help our family with the wiki.
I think for the community its better to have a wiki then a book.
We can do two parts in the wiki one for afn one for potpros and a part with infos for both trees of the community.
We used the free media wiki for our tech forum and its very easy to manage.

ps you can close the sub forum for the book if you want to clean the forum.

@Son of Hobbes
In the start of the wiki we got a small problem. If there are questions people often write "read the wiki " but we handle it in the team and say this is not allowed because we loose a bit of the vibe we got in the tech forum.
There is much work to do with a wiki but i think its a step in the right direction.

For the start of the wiki look at 3 trusted members who wants to help, install the wiki and make a small private subforum fir the wiki team, the planning can be make there.
I can setup a structure and do a road map for the wiki, because i know how much work a forum is for the team and admins.

if you want my help iam in and manage that.
