Mephisto Genetics Sour Crinkle Two Ways

I tried Biotabs a year ago with Coco.this was before they offered Sillicum Flash. I spent a lot of $ on the entire line up. It was my worst yield in 20+ years. They started off good, but they didn't end up as nice. Not horrible, but way smaller than. I am used to. I still have $700 in Biotabs, I personally don't think they are meant to work in Coco. I will say the flavors were nice, but the yield was junk compared to nutrient feeding. Just my experience, I should try a single plant grow here and there to experiment, as the product were not cheap. I had a total hip replacement last year and wanted to try using just water to avoid making nutrients daily. How did your Biotabs girls do? If you had problems with them in Coco, mine yellowed up and appeared to develope multiple deficiencies once in flower. I wasted a whole tent on them, lesson learned. I will do a plant here and there moving forward to see if I can get them o work better. Good luck

I've used Biotabs in soil and coco, and tbh didn't notice much difference between them. What's really interesting though is that I've found multiple times if you break the root ball up (again in soil and coco) sometimes the tabs have broken up a bit, and sometimes you find two intact tabs - this was the case with the Sour Crinkle pictured here. Mind you, it still managed to keep her alive through a long period of neglect so I can't really complain... But the nutrient fed ones got through to the finish a lush green colour, I was amazed to open the tent after two weeks away and see them happy and healthy, I'd been expecting a massacre. Will get pictures up soon.

I had the identical experience with my 1st AutoPot/Biotabs grow last Spring/Summer. I tried again in September -- this time amending the coco with some dolomite lime. I still needed to add some cal mag around mid-grow. The plants will pull through OK, but the size/yield can't compare with the identical seeds side-by-side growing in nutrient fiberpots. I've recently ordered up some Silicum Flash for a third attempt that I'll kick-off early next year. But like you, at this point, unless I can get things better dialed in, I'll just use up what I have of the Biotabs and probably not invest in more. BTW, I'm doing fine with my 4 year old hip, but need to get the other one done in a few months, so I too would like to find a way to minimize the time and effort navigating stairs and standing around mixing nutes. I'm going to give Mephisto's SuperSoil a try on my next grow cycle .... we'll see. :toke:

Good luck! They are a great idea, but Coco is basically hydro with a medium. I don't think there is enough organics in Coco to support Biotabs. I cannot justify bad yields for a little less work. I will experiment here and there, cause I have it. I would use them if the yield was even close, but it wasn't. Let me know how the Silicum Flash pans out. I won't switch medium, but will buy some Silicum Flash if it helps. Good luck, slow
