What are the main differences between these two series of lights other than the dimensions and coverage :) Sp150 and ts1000 specifically.

Many thanks.

Migro just did a review on the SP-250 series, he likes it. Should be a bit more efficient then the TS series and it's splash proof, which is pretty damn cool if you ask me. The SP-250 also appears to have some UV and IR in it now and should in general have a better spectrum. Also SP uses more quality components like a Meanwell driver. The other difference is how the lights spread out the light over the area with the TS series having more of a hotspot in the middle and SP spreading it out more evenly and thus can be ran closer to the canopy. Look at Migro's review and the wonderful spread he gets in a 2x4 area with the SP-250 at approx. 16 inches in the video, impressive. Thinking of pulling the trigger on the SP-250 myself, did not realize it was such a good lamp.

SP150 is not Meanwell driver, the driver is made in China

Thanks, that's good to know, any other differences we should be aware of ? I notice the SP-150 does not list the UV and IR diodes, so I am guessing it lacks those as well ? If that is the case why would someone choose the SP-150 over the TS-1000 that costs slightly less, basically has the same spectrum and a better core coverage ?

I went with the ts1000 been up for the last two days and penetration looks much better than the reflector series which I have 3 of.

Good choice, I feel the SP-1000 is a better choice then the SP-150 when it comes to the smaller lights. Very good spectrum with a much better core coverage and costs slightly less. Honestly can't think of a better sub 150$ light. Even the HLG 100 costs slightly more and outputs less light, sure it's a bit more efficient but less powerful with a weaker coverage.

I think the new TS and SP series have made all the previous Mars lights completely obsolete, they could easily stop selling those blurples, they are pretty much pointless now, don't know why anyone would buy them.

Anyway super excited to start growing with the SP-250, already bought some extra electrical cable and a cable joiner so I can mod it a bit and put the driver outside the tent. Will only use it as a veg light during the summer and then when fall hits the real fun begins. Until then it's my greenhouse running god's light, I hear that one has a really awesome core coverage and amazing spectrum, best in class you could say haha...

Good luck with your growing Micky, I think you made the right choice!
