Last night I went to a guys house. I had smoked some of the dankiest herb I have ever smoked. It stronger than the 818 headband or the chemdawg I have. He claims it to be Afghan. I asked him If he had a bag he wanted to let go of. He offers me a bag and a clone. The clone at 35 dollars. I agree to buy them both. And I ask for clones @ 50 dollars for 2, he agrees.

Anyhow I bring the plants home with me and they are in the tinniest pots. Rooted in need of transplant. But the first thing I noticed is the leaves were long and narrow sativa not indica so its not afghan. Anyhow as I am preparing to transplant i notice the white speckles about the leaves. I am stoned as hell at the time.

All of a sudden it hits me muthaphuckka its spider mites. Now i have never had them. I have read about them and seen pictures of them and the damage they cause. I do the white paper plate shake the plant sure enough mites. I leave them in the basement in my little tent thats big enough to for a single plant in a 3 gallon air pot. AFTER I transplant them into solo cups and spay them with dawn dish soap and warm water top and bottom. Their in the basement. My garden is on the 3rd floor.

My question is now do I have spider mites in my main garden eventually. I have never really bothered studying them just read whatever articles I read. But I never had reason to do extensive research on them. I just read that I can drown them in warm water and soap for 10 minutes underwater. container and all. I have like 2 hours before i have to leave for work. I am headed to the shower as this is pushing me back from the things I do before work on a daily.:peace:

hey ghost what do you mean drawn them? link

ive been unfortunate enough to recently have huge problems with spider mites, so have a bit of experience now with them.

getting rid of them off a couple of small clones should be childsplay, as the clones are only small your only dealing with a few leaves, you can invest the time to spray the bottom and top of every leaf thoroughly with insecticidal soap and it will just blast them away. (or litterally dunk the entire plant in there, like i said there small enough for you to do things properly) its when you get them on big plants is when their a bastard. because no-one can spray that many leaves and nodes with 100% efficiancy. so they always come back. (the only true way to rid them then is to use a miticide that is absorbed by the plant and is then effective for 28 days afterwards. but no-one wants that in their product do they?)

as for will they have contaminated your garden three floors up? my guess- probably, if not now, they will soon. youll carry them on your clothes and whatever and it will probably be inevitable. but your armed with foresight, which is more than most of us get. most people dont know theyve got them till its too late. so get yourself a insceticidal soap spray on the go and start preventative spraying in your main garden and you should fend off an attack before it even gets started.

hope this helps. and good luck

Hey thanks yes I will start soon as I get home and I will attack them without mercy. I called the guy on my lunch break. He was really calm he says oh yeah I forgot to tell you. An he goes on to say he has been battling them foe months and how he cant kill them. I am almost ready to go kick his ass. Or at least gave a go at it. Directly after work.

had to move my growing plants back to their original place. A place I moved them from recently equipment and everything. Here are the clones. I have sprayed the shit out of them with some insecticidal soap from the local feed mill. I poured it into one of my little squirt bottles. I mixed it with water accordingly. I than sprayed the shit out of them soaking the leaves, top and bottom. Rubbing actually like bathing them. Even the stem down to the medium.

Transplanted them into blue solo cups with fresh promix. I didn't want to use anything bigger because these girls will get transplanted into air pots when the time comes. I will dunk the whole plants in 3 days. Here they are the so called Afghan clones.

I looked at some of the buds under the scope. And I was shocked to find that I had to really search the buds to find a amber colored trichome. This shit knocks me out cold. A few rips from the glass bowel and I am trying to remember what I was doing before I was stupefied.

You could consider some of the predator mites Amblyseius californicus as a precautionary measure in your existing grow to prevent an infestation in the event of that grow getting contaminated. I have found them to be quite effective, although not sure if they will totally eradicate them though.

Hey thanks I moved all my plants out of the building. Only plants left there are these 2 clones. I really want to grow this strain out. But at the same time. I didnt want to risk any contamination of my current grows.

if they are separated I would treat them in a few ways to ensure your best outcome imo.I would drench the soil with a frass and sns-209 mixture with a few drops of ye ole soap and with a spray a cpl days later of the soap you mjentioned(maybe a touch of frass too) and Id bet you would be ok assuming they aint the borg(red mites) and are not set up yet.know em out n ive never had an issue with them coming around or spreading after that for me.

I would also recommend Safer 1-2-3 and agree you should mix up what you are using and keep treating 2-3 weeks after everything looks good. Clones in veg are far easier to treat than at almost any other point in time. Good luck and nuke them f-ers
