Mephisto Genetics Squeaker run of sour crack

so what do you guys think about using very restrictive potting with this strain to make it flower faster. i'd like to shoot for 60 day if i can, cant decide wetween 2 or 3 gallon smart pots for them tho... i have both.. and i know she stays small, but i want her to finish quick more than i want her to yield heavy... opinions?

lighting is 2x QB96 Elite V2 Quantum Boards with etra red and far red diodes :) AMAZING flowering light!

nutes:

Earth Juice - Grow 2-1-1
Tiger Bloom - 2-8-4

24/0 light schedule (possibly changing that to 20/4, havent decided yet) i think 24/0 would be fine tho, how about you guys?

leaf tucking and LST for both plants (im starting with 2) and i'll do LST and leaf tucking AND top the 2nd plant to see if it is favorable or not

First off I want to say I am sorry for your loss. I too lost my mother this year and something about losing a parent changes things for us. Things become a little more sad, yet you realize what is important and that is comforting in a way. You will have good and bad days. But keeping yourself busy helps a lot. Time heals, but it's a deep wound. Keep your head up.

Someone said NOT to run Coco at the Soil levels. Normally I would agree. However, if NFTG recommended it...I would start in those ranges. Remo runs his Coco pH higher than the "normal" as well. That being said, I would hug the 6.3-6.4 range vs the upper end they suggested. In case of false readings, 6.8 is high and if your meter is wrong you could be near 7.0. I am interested in how the NFTG does in Coco and will be following. Good luck bro
Thank you for the thoughts,

Am eager to see what it'll do in coco. Can say the turp and flavor profile has been on point in soil, and not a poor performer either.

How restrictive? I find my happy spot is 3 gal and above. Smaller ends up too finicky for my liking.... plus I'm pulling a tablespoon of soil bi-weekly for slurry tests... so there's that...

But yes, restricting the roots should run faster.

Do you have to adjust the pH much? Does it stay stable?
The pH up is a liquified limestone, so adjusting is beneficial to the soil as well, adding another calcium source and balancing the organics as they break down..
I run RO water so pH up is a must. After nute load, am about 5.4. So it gets a solid dose of the pH up.

You consider 2 or 3 Gal VERY restrictive? You want it to finish faster, don't top it. Sour Crack needs leaf tucking and that's about it. What medium are you using? Lots of variables.

No I don't consider them restrictive, that's where I'm comfortable with work to pot size ratio. Seems 1 gal and under require more attention, unless running on a flood table. + I have 2 sizes of bags to use @ the moment... the 3 gal I've run for the last year, or my 10 gallon ones for my photos.

Also she may stretch some, as shes not gonna get direct lighting, which I will encourage, she (they) is currently 3 feet under a solid canopy. That'll change, but not next week.

Guess if I'm gonna talk about them today... ought to at least post an update pic.... ready to get excited? Yep if the both come up... 1 will get culled

I guess I always figured larger pots larger plants :/ but I’m sort of new to autos minus a couple minimal runs in the past.

The reason I ask is I chose 2 gallon smart pots for my 3 Lowryders I’ll be harvesting in a couple weeks... look how TINY they stayed..

Not very pleased with how big they got :/ granted the genetics had allot to do with it so I’m basically just gathering opinions on what you guys think about this strain which is also small in most pheno’s.

I have several Sour Crack seeds that I can grow any way I choose... AFTER I get some quick nugs to tie me over. So I have 3 gallon and 2 gallon smart pots, I’m curious how much longer my finish time might possibly be with a difference of one gallon of medium :/ just throwing a line out there hoping someone can touch base w me about it

Soil is:
30% FFoF
30% Happy Frog
30% perlite
8% worm castings
2% mycorrhizae

Lights are QB96 Elite V2’s

Nutes:

Earth juice (2.5tsp/gal)
Tiger Bloom (2tsp/gal)

24/0 light schedule to finish quickest I think
