I'll be planting autoflower (3 gallon containers) seed on my balcony. It has a ceiling & 2 sides opened. Plenty of light and some direct sunshine. When the seeds sprout should I leave the pots where they will get some direct sun or just leave em in the shade?
Are there different stages in the growth schedule that i should avoid direct sun?

I'm in the SW desert area. 90's & 80's for the next 12 weeks.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I start mine in direct sun with out issues, they will need direct light to grow well shade grown will stretch for the light.

For how long do you keep them in direct sun? How many hrs a day & for how long? A week?
Thanks.
PS It's in the 90's here now.

all day they stay out side :)

Up to 14 hours of sun here at peak, now down to 12.5. Winter is coming and will have to move inside by October.
good luck with the grow

Thanks Peacebrother. I should have at least 10 hrs. of sun by harvest time. Should be ok.
