Hi all, complete newb here that's done a bit of research. Just looking for a few helpful tips on my first journey. My setup is a platinum hydro-grower 40 with clay balls which I will be filling with demineralised water. A 130w 6400k cfl and 13.8w 225 LED blue/red panel which I currently have about 12" from the seed on an 18/6 cycle which I will stick with throughout. Centrifugal exhaust with carbon filter, ozonator, clip fan and heating mat if needed. I will be using advanced nutrients micro, grow and bloom which I will start on 1/4 nutes when she's sprouted a good few inches (unless others recommend differently if they have grown this strain before).
Now my bean has sprouted and I've placed in a jiffy pellet which I've now placed in the grower, which I haven't filled yet, il just be topping the pellet up until it sprouts. Current temp is sitting at 23.9c and humidity is at 52-56 which I'm happy with. All I have on at the moment is the lights. Il attach a pic for you guys to see what you think

Johnny,

Welcome aboard! Decent looking set up got there. Maybe once your baby girl gets going figure out a different method to mount your lights. The panel is sort of blocking your CFL as it is now. Also maybe go peek into the Introduction section and say hi before you get to much further.

Peace....

Thanks for that HotBunz, yeah il pop my head into introductions. Any recommendations on how to position the Led? Raise it above the cfl on an angle maybe?

Quick question to anyone, the bean has only been in the jiffy for just over 24hours, should I be running the pump to slowly wet the clay balls? Or will this be too much water for the pellet?

I don't use jiffys and I probably never will but whatever you put your seed in needs to be fairly moist, not drenched but moist.

So my bean has finally popped through the Jiffy pellet which I put back in the propagator and I have also had to take down my wardrobe setup (noise was too much for partner) also decided to build a new hydro system in the spare room so I can mix it in with my chillies so it doesn't look too suspicious! Will get pics up as soon as the hosing and fixtures arrive! Hopefully my 3 month rental inspection is due whilst she's still small

peace

Welcome JohnnyC to AFN. White Sirius is what Stitch calls a super auto, it flowers later than the normal auto and seed to harvest is 140 to 160 days. So be prepared for longer times than the typical grows here.
The result should be more yield(I guess). I have never grown any super auto so I can not help you with any tips.

Thanks for the input Dingo, I've seen a few different comments on the white Sirius some saying that it's mainly indica some saying its mainly sativa and different strains from what it is made from. The seed bank which I purchased it through is saying it is a 75-85 dayer, mainly sativa and it comes from White Russian x Chem dog x great white shark. I'm unsure why theirs various information on this strain. Guess I'll just wait and see and keep you guys posted! :)

I just looked up my notes from Stitch's posts and you are right White Sirius is not a super auto and 75-85 days would then be right. The white strains are super potent and generally are stinkers, so be prepared!
