Hello! It looks like my grow tent is going to have 80-84degree temps, whether I like it or not due to its location in the home and the geographical location of the home itself.

Can anyone recommend any strains that won't be hurt by the somewhat-high temps? I'm guessing anything that still has a heavy presence of genes that developed in tropical environments would do well, but I would love to hear something from the masses on this site!

Thanks!

Thats not hot at all. You can grow anything in those temps no worries!

Thank you for giving me some comfort, Scott. For the past several months I have been doing A LOT of reading before my first grow, and people mostly seem to say that 78 degrees is the hottest that you would want it. ...That never did seem to completely jive in my head...I have seen healthy MONSTER plants in 80-90+ degree weather growing outside, so I wondered why a controlled 80-84deg. space would be a problem. I can understand if there is a "desired" temperature range, but a max of 78 seems kind of low. Am I alone on that?

Thanks again, Scott.

. I guess some folks might think that way but I really cant think of too many places on earth that MJ grows naturally that it only gets to 78. Yes there are some colder places that it does grow naturally but lets just go with the percentages here. Brazil, Panama, Jamica, Mexico, US, Afganistan, Africa, Hawaii, all native places and so on will average higher temps where they grow naturally.

I run co2 on occasion and up the temps into the low 90's to take maximum advantage as the plant absorbs co2 more efficiently at those temps. I normally run in the low to high 80's depending on the room temp and have seen no ill effects for those temps.

Once it gets over 106 the plants seem to start suffering and dont get quite as big but its normally that hot here in the summer and lots of peeps grow outside fine. You just gotta water a lot.

:peace:80-84 is a great temp obviously 78 is a comfortable temp for us but plants are bred and have evolved to cope with stress. unless your plants tell you to change something there is no need. My room goes between 78-85 and occasionally reaches 90-93 but not for long. but the lady still loves it. your pots will dry out a little quicker but as long as you keep them fed and moist youll plants will be fine.:smokebuds:

Scott and MCLovin', thank you for your replies, they are greatly appreciated. I'm going through some newb-stress before my first grow and am sweating all the small stuff...That's probably a good thing, honestly.

If anyone else has their own 2-cents, I would love to hear it. ...Anyone else disagree with the "Never go over 78 degrees!" line of thinking?

I have grown multiple strains from Mandala in Florida. You should go to their siteMandalaseeds.com. and check. Out there strain description page.believe it or not ive had 5 successful grows indoors with my temps lin the mid. Nineties no sh it.hope this helps.PEACE
