Strawberry Nugs, day 28. The internodes are ridiculously tight on this girl and there's a couple of fan leaves that are the size of my hand blocking the lower growth. I'm trying to leaf tuck them but everything is so compact I'm struggling. So I'm just after some opinions on removing them both or not is a good idea?

I have exactly the same problem with StrawberryNuggets.
Saw no flowers for 6 weeks, then a recessed central cola started showing.
About a week later colas began successfully fighting their way up thru the dense vegetation in lots of places.
After 7 weeks it's still too dense to even leaf tuck.
Densest plant I've ever seen, so I decided not to touch it.
This is my second time growing this wonderful strain.

I would personally remove them...if not now, definitely in a few days lol.

I just did some pretty heavy defol myself. They always bounce right back when I do it..just make sure the leaves you are taking off are taken off for a reason, like you are doing now (for more light to the lower nodes). I had to remove some tiny brand new leaves that got burnt today. Poor plant :(

I would cut them too, 2 leaves wont affect your grow. Itll actually help to get more light in there

Have you tried to tie them down and possibly sideways too? I did that with success on bushy and squat plants before. Personally I try to avoid to cut fans on heavy indicas leaning strains ... but that‘s just me.

Good luck and happy growing!

Why do you avoid cutting indica?

I've given tucking a try but there's so many side stems trying to come up and the leaf is so big there's no where for the leaf to go, the other problem is the side stems are struggling to get past the large fan leaves, they're kind of just growing into the bottom of the leaf at the moment.

Sativa leaning strains respond usually better to invasive plant management than indicas. Some indica strains don‘t like it at all and respond badly to it. But it always depends on several other factors such as plant health or the plant‘s age as well. That‘s why I try to grow them with some leaf tucking or as described above and maybe a light lst.

Lol interesting. I just took about 20 or so leaves off of each one of my plants and all of them lean a bit indica...ooops! We will see how they take the stress I guess.
