If you are running over 1000 Watts (my personal threshold) you should seriously consider a "controller." Another forum for controller education...
Bottom line, reduce the load stress on your circuits; free ALL your extra circuits to plug away as you want. You can find controllers to fit the number of ballasts you are running. With research, I quickly found Titan Controls to be a leader in this arena.
Easy hook-up, just try not to smoke prior to touching your main box!!!.....
I did try but the thought didn't last very long.......
You will need a *2-amp double circuit breaker & **8/3 wire.
*If you do not have room on your circuit breaker, you can by a side box/junction for $15.00.
**In regards to wire gauge and load, you can find a load chart online to save money (lower number gauge, heavier wire; bigger load). I have Helio 4 which takes up to four ballasts or 4000 watts. 8/3 is recommended, but I am only running about 2200 on this box so I am totally safe with 10/3 wire. With 10/3 I still have room to play. You may want to look into a heavy load extension cord and mount box by circuit breaker vs. garden depending on location of garden to circuit breaker.
Do not be afraid of electrical, google is your friend.
5 STARS!!!!
