For the last 3 grows it's been getting worse.
short plants , swollen lumpy stems, a mass of buds form late in the grow right at the bottom of the plants, but don't mature.
on the lower stems and branches there is a spotty effect .
These are think different plants from Dutch passion seeds.grown in soil .
Some plants are more deformed than others , but all of them are short.... Half the hight I used to get ... And yields down by 50%
is this insect , disease or deficiency ?

A pic of entire plant woul'd help.Did you cut the plant at soil level?

I found some of these on the grow room floor .
they look like fleas , but 6mm (quarter inch ) long.
i searched all the plants and soil and roots , but can't find any living ones .... Only dead on the floor .
what are they ?

yes, in that second pic the plant is cut at soil level.
in the first pic it is different plant cutoff half way up the main stem

the worst plants are only about 16 inches tall.... ive grown think differents to 4 foot before

im afraid I cant post a pic of an entire plant. the have all been cut down

Is that a thrip ?

never had insect issues but im sure someone will know

I'ts normal for the stem to look like that at soil level. If your doing the same thing as your other grow with the bigger td than its probably a stunted gene related problem.

If all conditions are exactly the same it could be bad seeds.

With the amount of information we have it's impossible for us to give a proper diagnosis. The stems don't look incredibly bad and that bug i'm guessing isn't a plant pest but some other kind of bug.

Really need a tonne load more info than this to give you any proper help. Sorry.

My only advice would be clean down the entire room. Get rid of whatever you can out of the room. Buy brand new soil, preferably Plagron or BioBizz if you can get it. Use good nutrients designed for canna. Get new seeds. Start a new grow. Record everything, post all info and results.

I've been growing TDs for 2 years now .
i hesitate to tell you how many plants I have seen !
these stems are not normal .
In the last 3 months things have changed very much .
This change in the plants coincided with a new batch of seeds from Dutch passion ... Is there really any chance it could be a problem with the seeds ?
could such a reputable firm as DP produce a whole batch of seeds that were so bad ?
