Subtropical perpetual outdoor guerilla grow with Connoisseur Genetics: crosses of Neville's Haze, Thai, SSSDHaze, Mullumbimby, Kariba

Getting hotter. Mid 30s C today.
Watered as they were a bit dry.
Prepared the last of those white containers for this season by removing all the weeds like before.

And now for a series of out of focus photos, haha...

She's naturally kind of grown two main tops.
Left side is slightly taller than the right.

PXL_20250615_073836022.jpg

Leaves definitely have that NLD look to them.
Gives me a similar vibe to that more NLD and long flowering Grail girl in 2023 to 2024 reveg season.
Also the same pink leaf stem.
Kind of looks a bit delicate, but actually quite tough stems.

She's about 80 cm tall I estimate (measure with hands).

This is the taller top on the left.

Has that kind of look like a week or two into flower after showing sex.
Internode length is quite short.

And the shorter top on the right:

She's now mostly showing only three-leaflet fans on the main tops.
Before she was flipping back and forth.
So, that's not just a sign of start of flower.
It's also a sign of a more Thai or SEA background I think.
Those Grail x ThaiFricans from 2024 were a bit similar.

And It's like a week before the summer solstice.
The light cycle between now and then doesn't change much at all.
It's not like she's going to have any reason to flip back into full veg either.
It'll take a week or two until after the solstice to feel the light cycles roll back, too.
Conclusion: I think she'll kind of continue with this kind of growth for a few more weeks,
and then slowly but surely roll into more and more complete flowering.

The more I look at this plant and think about it,
I suspect that my attribution of parentage may be wrong.
This young lady may be sister and brother:

(Grail x ThaiFrican) F2

More specifically:

((NevHaze18 x Mullumbimby Madness 1) x (NevHaze21 x Mullumbimby Madness Long))
x
(Outback Haze 2 x (NevHaze x Kariba))

X

((NevHaze18 x Mullumbimby Madness 1) x (NevHaze21 x Mullumbimby Madness Long))
x
(Outback Haze 2 x (NevHaze x Kariba))

Right?!?!

I noticed that since she's not a very tall and spacious girl,
there is still a bit of space on either side of her in her pot.
Originally I was going to run three cultivars here.
One cultivar in each pot.
But then this mystery girl showed up and took over this pot.
I should have transplanted her on the side when I put her back in the ground.

One other pot will definitely have @harvestreaper 's MadMac OHz x THHz.
The other pot and may with this girl .... still thinking ...

Went in from the old way, via the batcave, today.
The bats are back!
Pics below, but first ...

Our volunteer mystery girl is definitely flowering, no doubt about it.
Got in to water and visit in general.
She was quite thirsty.
I also need to add more media to these white containers.

The shape of the colas says it all.
So if she's doing this on literally the solstice,
then she's not going to turn back at this point.
Could have a harvest in 12-16 weeks, possible?!?!
That would be September to October, wow.
Early days yet, shouldn't get too excited, haha.

PXL_20250621_060838136.jpg

You can also see the leaves are all three leaflet,
and still getting thinner and thinner.

PXL_20250621_060842102.jpg

Up top.
Her pink petioles are showing through strongly.
And into the main stems too.
PXL_20250621_060901518.MP.jpg

Wonder how much strength she'll show?
At about 80-90 cm tall now, she will still stretch for a month or two.
PXL_20250621_060918142.jpg

Her color and shape really remind me of the Grail NLD pheno from Season 1.
Same delicate structure to her, too.
Though the father was from the Grail Faster pheno, not the NLD. I think. :p

And back to the bats!
They are a bit more spread out than last season.
Must have been here a while, can tell from the fresh guano.
I haven't used this entrance for a few months already, I think.

Back to the bat cave, it definitely looks cleaner than before, maybe like you say the bats this season are more spread about. Good luck

I presumably missed it or forgot. Where is this grow, what country or region? Looks to be a suburb of a large South or Central American city? Is growing legal there? You're apparently publicly visible and accessible(?) plants don't get ripped off?

Hey there, welcome to the Haze Hacienda!
Hmmm, it's subtropical, that's about all I'm going to say for the location.
It's in a large series of abandoned not-fully-constructed apartments/houses.
Apart from these, most of the area around here is totally mountainous forest/jungle.
It's a long way from the suburbs, though there are some other inhabited houses and buildings around.
Not legal. Not at all.
Hmm, in theory, if someone pointed their binoculars at the garden, they'd see it.
But then there's not guarantee they'd even know what they were looking at.
To get to the site itself, one would have to know exactly where it is,
and either jump a very tall looked wall and gate, or cut through the jungle, or go through a series of abandoned carparks.
They don't get ripped off.
Thanks for stopping by!

Hmm, I don't know about cleaner.
I think over the winter, with the original guano aging down, it feels cleaner.
But that's because it's dry aged bat poop,
instead of fresh bat poop.
But there's still like 100s of kgs of the stuff just forming a thick layer on many parts of the floor there.
Thanks for the best wishes.
Hope you're garden is smiling, too.

Almost a week later.
Weather has been hot and sunny.
Temps around 34-28 C daily high/low.
No rain, and fairly low humidity for here.

Despite the heat and lack of rain, she looks very happy.
Still quite pale, but hasn't lost any more color,
and from her growing tops she is bringing in a darker shade of green.

I checked my on the fly mulch from last week.
Lifting it up, I do see that the soil surface still has a touch of moisture.
Otherwise normally the top layer would be quite dry at this point.

PXL_20250627_002002696.jpg

She has four colas total.
One is the main stem.
There is a lateral branch that has come up almost as big as the main stem.
And then two slightly smaller side lateral branches forming nice tops.
Total height is just 80cm = 32".

I'm still impressed that she's definitely flowering like this, and it's still just late June.
Really looking good for an early sativa / haze harvest with this girl.

Check out the leaf pattern.
She already switched to fully three leaflet leaves a week or two ago.
These leaves have a characteristic shape.
The main leaflet is of course just narrow and long,
but the two side leaflets have this cool curve back.
Makes like a trident shape.
She has put out a number of these three leaflet leaves, as she stretches into flowering shape.

If I look into the very nice growth at the stem tip,
I think that the newest leaves may be single leaflet.
But I am sure she will put out a number of nodes with those single leaflet leaves to reach full height.

Those thin ropes are there from last season.
Might be used for further support later on.
But she's short enough that I now doubt she'll need it.

Love and hugs,

It makes a change that the weather has been playing it's part and not creating additional hassle for you. The girls like you say are coming along nicely, I think this year all round for the gorilla growers weather wise has been good. Let's hope it continues.

The weather is so far so good.
The nasty weather from last year only kicked in a bit later,
a late, but long and heavy rainy season for late 2024.
Long term forecast for next few months:
Hotter than usual, probably.
Rainfall forecast for average, possibly slightly more rain.
Smaller plants in bigger pots is good -- less likely to dry out.
Plus the mulch I put out this year, it's already helping.
Let the sun shine!
