Bueller??

I am taking a college class on soils which is really interesting, lots to learn. We went on a field trip to the soil manufacturer in Hubbard, OR where they mix media types into different ratios depending on plants which will be grown and the material they have in stock. They had piles of bark, pumice, perlite, vermiculite, peat moss, coconut fiber, and other compost. The most interesting part was that they had a soil line created with Silicon called Resilience, it helped to improve plants drought tolerance and other growth boosting capabilities. When i get my next batch of dirt I'm definitely gonna give Resilience a try, do some research and record progress. Hope you find what your looking for...

whatcha wanna know about it?? its a good soil..youll have to work it a little to get the grow you want but thats whith any bagged soil these days.they all need to be worked on some level.but yeah man should do ya fine.ive not heard of any problems with it at all and i used it a looong time ago and it was excellent.im sure itll work quite nice to as a living organic base too.BG has good products ive used several of them over the years.

Awesome, thanks man! That's pretty well what I wanted to know. I don't think I'm going to have the time to really work it like I was hoping to this year, but I have some of this http://www.espoma.com/p_consumer/biotone_02.html#.VOp6ttB6poM that I wanna mix in there. Plus some perlite, and lime and such.

Should be a fun little greenhouse season.

I've even talked the wife into growing her own out there this year... So far she's leaning towards a Sour Crack.. I may have to make a journal for her too :)

cool deal man sounds like a wiener there mang!! yeah that heavier granular is decent stuff just make sure you blend that well for two n a half weeks atleast for it to fully be available as well as to finally balance out at the three week mark or so.but should serve ya pretty well man just use like ya said perlite n some lime n so on n a few teas or big bloom soup n fish n kelp type feeds as well.either one should work:Sharing One: id personally use no more to start with than something similar to a rounded 1/2 cup per 1 Cubic foot for autos with a plug or tier potting with the seedling mix of yer choice.man thats awesome!! gonna be a whole family review of greenhouses lol sweeet!:Sharing One:

Right on, beautiful man, thanks again!

I've definitely got some fish, and kelp juice, as well as some nice humas and worm juice from the wife's farm still on hand, so I'll make sure to rock some bubbling tea action.

I also have some camg+ from general organics, but I'm hoping the lime will be enough... That leads me to my next question... How much lime should be dumped in there? I'm only planning on making probably like 8-9 gallons of mix as it's only going to be for a few potted plants.

Man, I'm excited. I'm working on getting her to join the forum and log it herself, but she says she's to busy :(

Man... If only the kids were more adult like... We could have a whole family group grow. Nothing brings a family closer together than growing your own gange together :) lol

well if ya got about 8 or so gallons thats juuust a touch shy of a 1.5CF bag of soil and i tend to use about a 1/2 cup as a general rule for that amount of soil to start with so imho id say go with about 1/3 of a cup..and if your water is a bit rough or your not going to baseline your water use a full 1/2 cup n mix really really well a few times..lime first and mix each additional item in and by the time your done it'll be mixed really really awesome n shouldnt give ya any trouble but if your water is pretty good id stay aroung the 1/3 cup range.

Your the man eyes!

I'll be smoking a few in you honor when the seasons over :)
