PRODUCT COMPOSITION
Sunshine Advanced Ultra Coir is formulated to maintain maximum water retention without sacrificing good aeration. It encourages the development of strong, healthy root systems for maximum stem, flower, and foliage growth.

RATIONALE/FUNCTION OF EACH INGREDIENT
Sunshine Advanced Ultra Coir has the dual benefits of coir (coconut fiber) and peat moss to hold water and nutrients for optimal plant growth. The perlite provides excellent drainage, resulting in a mix that is most suitable for growing conditions where plants need to be watered more frequently. Our organic nutrient package gives a supplemental charge to help plants get started, and our endomycorrhizal blend enhances the ability of plants to access the nutrients in the root zone.

TRIAL SUMMARY
This formula was modeled after our professional coir-based mixes used in greenhouses and nurseries on a wide variety of ornamental and agricultural crops. We’ve trialed the mix in our own greenhouses until we developed a formula that maintains high water retention while still providing excellent air porosity and nutrient availability. In addition, using our in house lab, we examined the roots for mycorrhizal colonization to determine that Sunshine Advanced Ultra Coir would optimize the effectiveness of mycorrhizae on root growth. Ongoing testing in our trial greenhouses ensures that Sunshine Advanced Ultra Coir will continue to provide the maximum results you expect from all Sunshine products.

CULTIVATION TIPS
Sunshine Advanced Ultra Coir is designed to provide a perfect background to your own fertility program because it is essentially inert when you receive it. An organic fertilizer is included to give a background boost to your seedlings or transplants. You should start your own feeding program within 7 days after planting or seedling emergence. Mycorrhizae require low phosphorus fertilizer for optimal growth. During the plant’s active foliar growth stage, it is important to remember to use fertilizer with high nitrogen and low phosphorus.

That's direct from their website. I have two full lines to use. Either advanced nutrients or nectar for the gods. I'm not quite sure which I'm going to use yet. I'm going to b planting a Heisenberg special directly into this medium in a few minutes and giving straight RO until about day 10 and then I will begin feeding. I will decide which line I'm going to use and keep you guys informed. This will b my first coco experience. Has anyone tried this stuff before?
I will keep this as my coco thread while I try it out for a few plants.

Just be aware that the coir from sunshine isnt a true coco media and it will perform as such. What I mean is that when you look at the mix breakdown, its more like 40% peat 30% coco pith 20 perlite and 10% amendment. An wont perform like a true 100% coco or coco perlite/sub mix. I ran into this when I tried a mix from a company very very similar to sunshines break down.

An comparing that grow vs my canna coco with 35-40 % perlite substitute. They arent even in the same category. Not only do they perform different in growth rate, my PH is right for coco vs have a ton of peat which will break down and cause the PH to do funny things overtime depending on photo or auto lifespan. Also I spoke with the sunshine rep in my local store and stated just water till day 14 and intro nutes. When evyer other manufacturer of straight coco is a major taboo and will mess with their buffer for ideal nute uptake and balance. So Sunshine is using a different buffer method for the hybrid mix than industry standard.
An to me you pick one coco or peat and go for it. Because even mixing like that, they both by nature have two different nute needs and water needs.

But that is just my 2 cents and what I have taken away from coco so far. But you cant beat free! So I would just use this as a early comparison grow vs a true coco company like : Canna Coco, Nutrifield coco, royal gold, cyco etc.

Best luck in the grow brother!

I have no true coco or coco experience so I'm spring in the dark lol. Not sure if I should feed until run off or watery daily small amounts like I do with promix? Thanks for the heads up. Only trying one plant with it to see what's up. ...

@Roark u think you could ride along with me on this? It's a completely new adventure! I am not sure on a few things. ...I've already dropped a heisenberg special right into her lol so waiting for her to break soil....rest of the info is on first post if u don't mind taking a gander?

Well I been doing small amounts more frequently. Like now in my grow battle with goauto im doing 1liter 2x a day and will be trying to see if I can squeeze another in or turn my light to 24 and water every 8 hours (but I am in 3g pots). But I used to be a soil guy before this......never again will I look back from coco

I've been wanting to try coco . It can't be that different compared to pro mix is it surely
