Mephisto Genetics Super Soil vs AN in Coco. Sour Crinkle, BlueToof, and Gold Glue

Ok bro im not claiming to be a expert and my opinion my be far off but i don't think biotabs and the "super soil " ferts will satisfy the needs of ur plants in coco alone. Its made to be used in a soil substrate w good humus/compost like earthworm castings, organic compost, composted cow manure etc. The humus balances ph and provides the biosphere neccesary to support microbial colonies or "microherd". The plants cant readily absorb the organic nutes w out them. With the organic "Chemical nute free" growing u feed the soils microherd the organic ferts and they in return breakdown and chelate the ferts into a form that the plant can use.

I use about 25-30% coco in my mix and have pulled colas the size of my forearm w just water and molasses. If u want hassle free water only growing i would mix a container w three equal parts of compost , perilite and coco. the coco requires 2tbl spoons per gallon of dolemite lime or oyster shell flour in my experience, In the third of compost I substitute earthworm castings for about 10% of the volume ,then use the organic fertilizer maybe some kelp meal and ur golden. Organic water only smooth sailing, u can ditch the pens and bottles. Sorry if im coming off like a know it all , im not . i could very well be completely full of shit but ive yet to see a successful grow completed in coco w out the bottles. Sorry for blowing up ur thread bro.

Biotabs works fine in coco ... even recommended by biotabs

grows real HQ weed !
I've just started my 2nd round of biotab/coco/autopot :bighug:

Only issue i have is mag def due to the leeching power of COBS

Hey man, I get what you are saying. I was told it works in Coco and I will be using Recharge to help. Like I said, this is an experiment. Can't hurt trying.

@Ryker604 did Biotabs in coco, so I wouldn't say it doesn't work. Here's the journal https://www.autoflower.org/index.php?threads/60722/

Don't come in my thread and post things trying to call me out. I said they don't work well in Coco. I'm used to a certain standard, yield and quality. Just because you grow a plant from seed to harvest doesn't make it a success. Garbage yield, mediocre quality, and ugly growth is not my style. If you are going to use Biotabs, use a different medium for optimal results...not Coco

The issue is Biotabs and Coco. Just because they say it works, doesn't mean it is up to my standards. And your "Mag" deficiency is from Coco and Cobs. It will get worse. I can't stand imperfect plants. I spent $900 on products, waited a month to get everything, then I have the worst results of my life and have 20+ years of experience. I tried 2 rounds. Both start off decent, but but developed a "mag" def. Treated and never gets better. I don't have time to waste on subpar results. If you are happy with Biotabs s and Coco, that's all that matters really. But I stand by my statement, they don't work well in Coco.

Sorry to hear that, truely! when comming from lightmix/peat to coco/perlite i didn't see more mag def with coco... but maybe that's just because i was more aware...
I can agree so far not the prettiest plants, but the end result is by far the most potent i have grown, imo so much better than chem bottles.

I hope u the best of luck the the super soil ... :pass:

Hey mate can't you amend the coco with whatever is needed? I am on my first biotabs, coco and cobs run and the two girls in coco are the healthiest I've ever grown. I did amend with bat poo, pk tee, dolomite lime and precharged with mag though. Have given them one shot of organic mag powder also so far and will repeat in flowering. Seems to be working well so far. There is a shed load of calcium in my tap water by the way.

For the record, a certain someone who is very official in the biotabs world, told me coco is not ideal for use with tabs as it's an inert medium. Tis dead basically.
