Mephisto Genetics Super Soil vs AN in Coco. Sour Crinkle, BlueToof, and Gold Glue

Hey mate can't you amend the coco with whatever is needed? I am on my first biotabs, coco and cobs run and the two girls in coco are the healthiest I've ever grown. I did amend with bat poo, pk tee, dolomite lime and precharged with mag though. Have given them one shot of organic mag powder also so far and will repeat in flowering. Seems to be working well so far. There is a shed load of calcium in my tap water by the way.

For the record, a certain someone who is very official in the biotabs world, told me coco is not ideal for use with tabs as it's an inert medium. Tis dead basically.
Sure I am totally with you on that. Your plants will start off fine. Maybe with your amendments you will have favorable results. However, that's a lot of stuff to add for expensive Biotabs to work properly. I questioned the Biotabs crew many times about Coco before I bought. I am the furthest thing from a newbie, 2 rounds of subpar results after spending that much coin is just not my thing. If you are satisfied with the end result, that's what truely matters. I was not, so I don't waste time on round 3. I use RO water, maybe your water source will help. Good luck

Sorry to hear that, truely! when comming from lightmix/peat to coco/perlite i didn't see more mag def with coco... but maybe that's just because i was more aware...
I can agree so far not the prettiest plants, but the end result is by far the most potent i have grown, imo so much better than chem bottles.

I hope u the best of luck the the super soil ... :pass:
Hey man, I grow for quality first. If your quality was better than previous methods and you are happy...sweet. However, I and my patients have certain visual standards. I can't get rid of stuff that looks way uglier than ever. Even if the quality is good. I will admit the 24 Carat I did tasted nice in Biotabs. But a waste of space yield wise and 2+ months of time for the smallest yields ever for me. I am not dogging on Biotabs. I just think Coco is not the right choice when using them.

BTW,
I am not trying Super Soil looking for better yields. I can yield excellent in 1/2 gal of Coco. I'm looking for a nute free grow with equal or greater quality. I know Coco is harder to grow with Organics. I am willing to try. But I am not willing to try Super Soil or Biotabs in anything but Coco. I never have and never will use Soil as my medium. I didn't spend a fortune on Super Soil, but Biotabs we're way expensive. I bought recharge, to help with Coco. This is an experiment. I just want to share honest results in my favorite medium. Peace, slow

In my limited experience with coco and organics, I found the yields to be lack luster. But the quality bumped up. Trying a soil/coco/vermiculite hybrid right now. Ammeded in some gypsum and an organic 8-8-8 fert. Things looking ok just 2 weeks in, but we'll see. I have some super soil that arrived after I began this grow, so I'm hoping you get some stellar results, both yield and quality.

Slow, question for you. You have used autopots right? Thought you mentioned you have. Do you think it possible to stir in Recharge powder in to the reservoir feed with no negative affect on water lines and aquavalves?

Right on bro , i just didn't want to see u blow thru $900 in whatever and be bummed again... I didn't know both aforementioned products are recommended for straight coco either. ive seen plenty of good grows w both. Products in soil mixes. Never tried organic dry ferts in straight coco but i grow w them in Organic coco/soil blends.it grows w out deficiencies under cobs and the quality is outstanding . I'll follow along and hopefully be schooled on it when u smash a grow.

Thanks Roasty. If yields are a little less, but quality is there, I'm good.

I'm not sure. Never used it before, just came today. It can be used with any nutes, but not sure if it clogs or anything. Peace slow

Hey Roasty,
Have you used Super Soil Before? I don't do soil of any kind. I'm a freak about bugs and cleanliness. Soil is dirty and has bugs. No Thanks! Its worth a shot to see it I get decent results. Labor alone it is worth trying. I press Rosin daily, so quality is my main objective.

I hand-water coco from a 2-gallon bucket of nutes I keep bubbling 24/7. When I dump out the dregs of a batch of nutes that had Recharge in it I can definitely see a residue on the inside of the bucket and quite a bit clinging to the airline & airstone that sits on the bottom, so there is some "sludge" or residue from it, in my experience. I've never used autopots so I can't say for sure how it'd work in that type of system but it's definitely not gonna leave your res clean...
