I have decided I can't wait anymore! LOL I'm going to germ the auto-sweet tooth seeds I have and put them in pots in the backyard. I had read somewhere before I bought them that autos can grow in my area from Feb - Nov, and that since I will be planting in pots I can bring them inside at night if it will get below 40F.

Now, of course I can't find that reference, but I'm going to go ahead and get started!

Have any of you brought pots inside for colder nights? This is my first auto grow, so I am open to any and all suggestions!

I'll post pics of the germinated seeds when they happen, I suppose! :D

Oh, I live in the Bay Area in Cali, on the East Bay side, and our weather is pretty mild year round. My husband and I both have our medical cards so we are able to have a garden right in our own yard. We realize how lucky we are for this, and hope that one day we'll ALL be able to grow a plant without being considered a criminal.

Thanks and looking forward to growing with you all this year!

Awesome. I sure wish I had your weather! There's still snow on the ground where I live. Good luck with the auto sweet tooth! :peace:

I'm on highway 780 just north of you. Get some cheap CFL lamps and clamp on holders at Lowes 6500k lamps for veg. Growth. 23 watts per plant. Start them indoors. When they get to big for the CFLs move them outside. Try to find a south facing wall or fence to put them against for reflected light and warmth. These three plants I started Dec 1st and moved outside Feb. 1st. They are flowering right now in Feb and should be done the end of March.

Nice looking girls, whynotgrow! What strain are they?

I appreciate your suggestion about the lights, and I'm sure they would do better if I worked it that way. :)

I'm still planning to do the indoor nights/outdoor days with these autos because as I understand it they are somewhat hearty and naturally grow in harsher conditions - at least the ruderalis portion of the autos... :P I'll probably be growing mainly photosensitive plants from late April thru Sept/Oct but if these autos do OK I may try to get a few rounds in and not grow our maximum of the photos.

Sprouts!

I'm guessing I count this as day 1? I'll plant the eggshells in pots in a few days... :D The eggshells are broken on the bottom for drainage, and I'll give them a few good cracks before I plant them.

Oh wow! I wasn't expecting one of the roots to stick out the bottom of the shell already! I think I LOVE autoflowers! hee hee :booya:

I have planted them up to their little necks and I'll post another pic or two when they are sticking up a little more and maybe shake those shells off...

The plants in the photo are "Super Stinky" super autos from Stitch.

Thanks for posting, gregblex :) I actually germinated in a paper towel and planted the sprouts in the eggshells. I think it's an old hippie thing to do, and I recently saw a photo that inspired me! I planted the shells and all in the soil and broke them up a tiny bit - I heard calcium is good for the soil (?)

So it's day 3 and they are still wearing part of the shell, though more stylishly now. LOL I took way more pics than I needed to but my new ipad has great resolution so I was able to enlarge some of them decently. I'll exercise restraint in posting pics... :smoke:

The first one looks like it's worshiping the sun! <3

Last two are the other little darling from different angles.

Just wanna say this is so much fun already! :D These autos sure are fast-acting and I'm looking forward to trying other strains.

Here are my day 5 pictures of the girls!

Nighttime temps here have been 40F or above since they have been outside, and last night was the first night I didn't cover the pots with a towel to keep them a little warmer and so far so good.

I decided to name them Maria and Sally, honestly because I read a thread here where someone named their seedlings and I thought it was cute... :D

So here are more baby pics for the record...

Maria has purple edges on her first leaves
