Right do autos have a funny taste or is flushing 10 days before cutting not enough

Personally I can't taste it but I've been told off a few that I've done me flush wrong and some say thats just autos they leave a funny taste. They were grown in DWC 10 days before cutting I switched out the water for fresh water and they were only given water from that point.

DWC only needs a 3 day flush. Algae can impart a flavor as well as bad bacteria. I smoked some aquaculture pot back in the 70s that tasted like bad fish

taste in cannabis is highly subjective, ask five people how does that taste? have five different taste response. 
autos do not taste any different than other cannabis. always an opinion.
