Hey, fellas. Ever seen any oil/wax that looks like this? It was made with a Red Poison that was chopped and put directly into the deep freezer for a day before being broken up, put in the tube and refrozen for another 6 hours. It looked like any other oil before I dropped it off to my buddy to be vacuum purged, but after 24 hours of purge it looks like this.

It is by far the tastiest of any oil/wax that I have tried, but I'm not sure about the consistency. It's like a crumbly, softer crayon texture. Any ideas why this might have occurred?

Yea thats a HoneyComb crumble consistency. The Biggest varaiable in order to get that consistency is Strain dependent. Some strains will not shatter for you and vice versa where some will only shatter up. Another factor to consider is was there air trapped in the oil by whipping it or stirring. Also folding your material after a slight purge over on each other can trap air causing this. Also if you scraped out the oil instead of pouring out of the collection dish can cause buddering of the oil and cause strains to Wax up. Looks good though

I blast into Pyrex than scrape it and transfer to parchment for vac purging, so there are plenty of opportunities to trap air. I've done the same for 6 different strains and this is the first to not turn out as shatter.

Yea most likely strain dependent. When i would run my High CBD strains it almost always was Sappy like never shattered on me.

Another thing i forgot to mention in the reasons is Heat. What was the temp of the Oil while being purged. Anything over 110 degrees Fahrenheit can cause waxing of the oil instead of turning out Shatter.

I'm not sure of the temperature, but when I blast into the Pyrex, the Pyrex is sitting in a hot water bath that is about 200 degrees farenheit. Should I not be doing that?

Invest in a IR thermometer great purchase for purging.

As for a hot water bath no 200 is fine at that stage there is so much liquid tane left its not going damage the oil. I wouldnt go above that though. I normally just run the sink on hot for a minute then use that water.
