Thanks for the tag @budelee. @Sideshow awesome to see your previous grow experience shining through man. Also thank you for your encouragement on my 1st grow, nice of you to pop over. Subbed up for the rest of the ride. Looks like you already got some of the masters lingering around these parts giving you some tips!
Also how did you find out that your pH meter was off, did I miss that part? I found the G.H. 7.0 fluid to be invaluable in checking calibration after I used the provided calibration mixes. This way I just make sure it's washed with distilled water after every use and check it once a week by just plopping the meter right in the bottled solution and if it's real close to 7.0 I know it doesn't need to be re-calibrated. Key is to make sure you wash it each time though. I think there is a storage solution too but didn't see anything about that in the directions with the pen I bought.
I'll shut up now, I tend to ramble a lot when I smoke. Looks great man!
I see, well just as a heads up (you probably already know this) if you were using it to read 7 for you it may be off. True pure water should be a 7 but as soon as distilled water comes in contact with c02 it starts changing the pH. Even newly capped distilled jugs I've bought from different places tend to be around the mid 5's when I checked their pH. I get them mostly for the 0 TDS properties.
Perhaps you have different methods and reasons, I am a noob after all! :smoking:
and if you open a bottle of distilled ( not purified, but in baby food isle distilled water) and its not 7.. return it.
Doctors used distilled for autoclaves..like tattoo artists , up or down from ph screws up autoclaves. I dont know where that scuttlebutt started about bottled distilled possibly being off, but that sounds more like a person using jugs that were not fresh opened, and making up an excuse. but thats just my opinion.
my experience with that was using jugs already opened myself to run the sterilizer, it left a discolored ring ( a yellow brown waterline ) which shop owner noticed, and tap water usually leaves a calcium ring in the machine was his other tell we didnt use a fresh bottle. and we would have to polish the insides of the machine back to mirror when we goofed
Wife dropped a bunch of "reg" seeds from her cookie jar of seeds collected over the past 14 years.... ( so these could be from a ten year old seed ) into some cups.... all popped LOL!
The photoperiod Lady is catching up to my stunts, although they are budding nice.
My three ladies in the 7" pots are gaining up too. Those three strains ( DP BB, FB GSC, FB BKBRY ) I will be measuring yeilds in those pots for a project I am brewing....( no pun intended for the brew n bloom, but another project involving a 3d printer and designs based on autopots )
