thanks pop 22 think I'll spend my day researching worms now yay....ohhhh my life is so boring and I love it

I got some large pumpkins for $1 each so I bought 5! I got one cooked and cut into pieces. I put them (skin and all ) into 1 gallon freezer bags. I got 3 1/3 bags from one pumpkin! Now I'd been told that pumpkins grown for Jack O'lanterns were no good for eating...WRONG! We cooked one and had it with dinner and it was great! One pumpkin will make enough for 3 meals at least. Going to cook one more into pumpkin soup, the rest are worm food. They going to eat good!

I also boiled the seeds and the stringy stuff for 10 minutes to kill the seeds. I have a mini food processor I got at auction for $1, I'll chop them all up for worm food. If you sterilize seeds, you can chop them and feed them to your worms.

Worms should be here tomorrow!

For bedding I used some of my recycled soil that has quite a bit of peat moss in it. Only put a tiny bit of food in one corner, some coffee grounds, a piece of pumpkin, and a banana peel. We'll see how they are doing in a couple days. My neighbor gave my 6 pumpkins, three are HUGE! I got enought to fill a 14 gallon bin with them. Keeping that out by the recycled soil bins. My worms are going to be eating a lot of pumpkin lol!

I want worms too! AHAHHA I think my wife will tell me the same thing about pets... XD
