I put the seed in a shot glass full of water for 24 hours, then transfered to a wet paper towel inside of a Ziploc bag. I keep the bag upright with the pointy part of the seed facing down so the tap root grows down (tap roots still grow down in zero gravity but I still think it helps). After 24 hours in the Ziploc I usually have a nice 1/2" long tap root so I plant right away. One day later I've got a seedling above the ground.

I'm sure I could just drop them in but that wouldn't allow me to micro-manage the 1st few days of it's life These TLO grows are so easy you get bored and have to find stuff to do.

Ha ha, micro-managing plants is fun. But I want to try the opposite direction, I might combine something like TLO with a SWC (self watering container) for a zero maintenance grow. Plant the seed and come back 2 months later for harvest. There is some debate that the dry/wet cycle of watering stresses the roots and wet root hairs start to die within hours. Forcing the plant to put energy into regrowing the root hairs.
