Indoor Tool shed showdown Feat. ak-49,hobbit, critical jack...

days 32 several plants are showing Mg deficiency. So they got 1 tbs of epsom salt with watering. Most are starting to show small buds forming.I did notice they are alittle sensitive to nutes.A few have slight nute burn. But nothing to worry about. The rate they are growing i should have noticable bud within a week or so.At 5 weeks i am gonna place 4 outdoors to see how they do.I will bring them in if night temps dip below 40 degrees f. I will probaly place the tallest 4 outside so i can keep the rest at the same height in the shed. Not much else to report since these things are simple to maintain.Pic update will be at week 5.Also container size looks like it is determining plant size so far at the point. We will have to wait and see how the yield difference is.

waira- the attitude has them in stock if you are interested in aquiring some seeds!

Thanks Midman- I did find them, and Herbies as well, that have stock, but my seed card is full now.... besides, the shipping charges for just a couple-few seeds wouldn't be worth it.... For now, I'll have to enjoy y'alls' grow vicariously.... A word of caution about the transition to outdoors: ease them into it gradually; a sudden gear-grinding change in temps and into actual sunlight can invite disaster...

I hear yeah! I put my auto's outdoor every year.I know the downside to placing outdoors.bringing them back in you can bring pest in as well.I get what you mean as far as shipping cost.heck shipping cost almost as much as the 3 seeds a person might purchase! I am glad to have you along for the ride ! Enjoy..On a further note i noticed that the ak-49 in the smaller containers seem to be flowering at a faster rate, or further along then those in 3 gallon containers.

I think the wild ruderalis genes tell the plant that if the shoes are getting tight, it's time to hustle, a survival response... The big picture I'm getting is that many auto's will do well in smaller size pots, even if a given strain can fill bigger shoes if conditions allow,... That's one of the main reasons I'm trying out autos :smoke:

I was wondering about the tight fit theary, its very intresting to me as i have a small set up. i wonder what the time until flower / yeild ratio is . Or if its = to or better than one grown in a pot of larger size. Say for instance will a plant grown in say a 2 gallon airpot grow proportionatly equil to a plant of the same strain grown in a much larger 3.4 gallon air pot.

Hi Smoke'- That might be generally true, but there are lots of other factors that come into play concerning a given plants' max. (genetically set) size, even given all other things equal... the strain itself, and the pheno-variables present in any seed population (how stable the genetics are,.. or not!); variables that include not just physical differences but behavioral ones too. For instance, Midman's earlier boomers in the smaller pots may just have quicker triggers, so to speak, than the others...maybe! From what I gather here likely not, but..... ...Or say you've got a Betty Boo, or some older generation lowryder type that are notorious for their very small size, putting those into a 5gal pot would be pointless, ay? How an individual strain, or even plant responds to shoe-squeezing is no set thing either. A couple of the strains I chose had notes from breeder recommending larger pot sizes, regardless of expected height... Basically if one wants the most out their plant avoid shoe squeezing! (lol) you see why it's hard to generalize... The devil is always in the details! When in doubt, ask a pro!:smoke: we got'em in spades here,... The excellent moderators and experienced growers on this site are happy to help! Don't just scan the threads, PM a few.... I have lots of plant experience, but am new to MMJ, and when I joined I wrote to sensei Muddy-san a couple times; he got right back to me with fine advise....

Also i noticed none of the plants in the 1 1/2 gallon pots are having any nute issues. It is easier to control the soil in a smaller pot.I would say the 1 1/2 containers are out performing the 3 gallon at this point. Now the larger pots will most likely come on stronger in the end.As far as a space issue i would think you could balance smaller pots to give close to equal yield of larger pots.Heck i have seen some pro's get a killer crop from a 1/2 gallon container.I will updae photo's tommorrow. The pitcher-o-pot is looking good as well.It still the smallest plant out of all of them.

Ohh the variables!!! Haha thats what makes this all worth it its so customizable and so original in every sence of the word depending on who what when and where.. Gotta love having words of wisdom just saturated within afn this whole subject just gets the gears turning and makes me want to expeirement :scope: but im lookin forward to the update im all caught up finally!!

Yeah Mid', that's the other end of the spectrum: some gals are fine with tight shoes, and skilled growers can run the fine line between working a high yield in low volume, and crash stunting it at the worst time.... but be leary of the idea that small pots are easier to control; with such a large root mass in a small volume, water and nutrient uptake are very rapid, and drawing from a more limited media source to hold these things, and so can become depleted reserve-wise faster vs. a larger pot with the same size root mass, but more media to store water/nute's... see what I mean? (lol) And yet the smaller pots are doing better!? Hmmm, could be that the plants in the larger pots are farther behind in developement above ground because they're expending energy and resources to building a bigger rootmass, which in turn, as you say, allows them to come on stronger later.... :D All good problems to have I guess!
