Im looking to set up a top drip system probably about 2x4 with square pots to run as many autos as possible. I was wondering what the best size pot would be for an auto in hydro? I ran 3 gal soil on my last grow and the roots didnt use even half of the space. I'm looking to run hydroton in the pots have the pots in a flood tray that drains back in the res and recirculates. Thanks for the help :)

That depends
what kind of light are you using ?
are you going for small plants ore big plants ?
If you are using a flood tray you could test different sizes of pots to get a feeling of how your systems works,
I use a 3L / 0.79 gal pot in a top feed recirc system myself, average about 80-96 g dryed (auto) single plant setup with a 100w hps 40X40 cm area
But that`s a small pot
but i woudn`t go under a 3L
Smaller pots more plants , bigger pots less plants
Maybe not so helpfull
"My 2 cents"
Peace

Thats what i was going to set uup pretty much. I was looking at a 4x2 flood table with 7.5x7.5 square pots and running 12-16ish plants with a top drip recirculating system but ive decided to stay with DWC. Maybe next go round ill switch it up. I was going to run a 600W light. Thanks
