Just accidentally toped/ decapitated mine at day 41 on accident. Seems to be doing okay but im sure i slowed everything down and stressed the shit out of her. Despite that, she rebounded over night and hasn't really slowed down that i noticed

I've experimented with topping autos in the past. IMO all it does is set them back a week while they recover and the yields were no better than ones that weren't topped. I think LSTing is a better option to control height.

Image 1: Day 24, Blue Mammoth, Betty Boo, Mi5 a couple of days after topping.
Image 2: Day 34, Mi5, BB, and BM at the back.

Image 3: BB at day 24
Image 4: BB at day 34. Success, the plant has taken on the candelabra shape desired. Same with the BM.
Image 5: The Mi5 did not like to be topped and has stunted rather than spread.

i agree, you're right on all occasions. the main reason i top is the grow is a bit stealthier: i'm in an illegal state. depends on each grow set up. GL

For indoors, I too would rather LST (Low Stress Training) than top. Technically LST produces the same auxins that topping does, but without any vegetative loss and less shock.

Let's talk 'topping' auto's...

I have heard that to top auto's is not the done thing.. however who has and what happened ? What can you expect, more side branches, slower flowering, reduced yield ? Longer plant life ? Shorter plant life?

I need to keep my plants down in height and I hear LST is an option but thats a little beyond my knowledge right now. Also my pots seem a bit small for LST, not sure how I would hold em down.

So any idea what might happen when topping an autoflower.

:peace:
