For us small bucket growers,3gal ones.
is it better to let the plant drink all the water/nuts and replace with a new solution lets say every 3rd day.
or top it daily?!
I know that plant doesn't eat everything with the same speed so if you top for 3 days prob you ll have to add another 3 gal of water.
now if your starting solution is a bit over feed you can top up only with water so to lower the ec that will be rising without add any nuts additives.if you underfed same principal but you add nutritients and additives equal to the water missing.
But if the plant doesn't use everything equally you ll left with a solution prob unbalanced for your loved one.
so I thought if you leave the plant to eat all the solution you are for sure what she is absorbing what you giving it and also you don't waste any of your precious nutritients when you swap to a fresh res and the plant still have at least 2 gal inside.
Also when I am away and the plant go almost dry is when I noticed the most increase in size.
it could be tricky to keep the ec stable for 3 days but not impossible to find the sweet spot that will not drift the ec up or down. I haven't noticed any nut burn and my ec goes from 1.8 to 2,3 daily but I' do see huge ph drfit after day 3and I just top with cold water after lights are off so obviously the mix losing its balanced after I have add so much water. Of course it ll be ok to add some water or nuts if you see a huge drift but mostly you get to know your plant and balance her diet easy.
