Indoor Trans Siberian Journal

Thanks just ordered my HPS and cooltube. I have also thrown in a MH as i will probably want that for a next grow and also i want to get more light penetration for the latter stages of this veg. Shame is i will not get the stuff till end of next week due to the holidays

I know my lighting bills will be heavy but i want to really push this first grow to the max, next grows i may go DWC and /or photoperiod and ease back on my lighting with maybe more plants. ( my heating bills drop of course in spring/summer so that will help) I want a decent harvest to see me through and keep me motivated ( all for personal use so this grow will hopefully keep me happy for a while)

Hi RedDevil,

Nice Grow you have going on here. I want to do the transiberian. I have found that it maybe one of the best strains for my symptoms. It does have a hight thc and cbd value, and should therefore counteract the sativa anxiety affects.

I believe more people should be commenting on this grow. you are doing extrememly well. I would take it as a compliment. It seems that the better off you are doing, the less comments you get, no yes no?

Great Job,

Eek

well as this is a first grow i am not really sure how it compares with a real experts grow, i am a bit concerned over my watering schedule, i am a bit haphazard with it and am really nervous about over nuting.

It seems that they can take quite a bit of water now 2 litres each ( i gave them 1 liter + 1/4 dose of grow on fri and 1 liter pure water on sat) I am tempted to try 1lire + 1/4 nutes for 2 days in a row, then move to 2 liters + 1/2 strength nutes in one go

I am watching hazy's autopot grow carefully as this would seem a good way to avoid the headache of working out when to water and feed

Week 4 day 23

Is it my imagination or have these girls really bushed up in just over a day, if so was the nutes/water/molasses. They just seem so "fuller"

These girls are so sexy ..hope they go all the way !!

Yes, definitely bushed up over the that period of time. I did the fast scroll up and down to compare the pics, and yes it is much bushier. What ever you did leading up to that, new nutes, molasses,H2O, gave em' a jolt.

I would be wary about watering them daily. They need time to dry out, and grow thier roots, if they dry a little, they will try to reach for more moisture creating a bigger root system, this will pay off with bigger yields later.

You can ad a bit of soil to fill the pots back up as long as your are not covering the vegetation, but don't use fertilized soil (now that you started adding nutes).

Just my two cents is all

Thanks for that info. I will leave soil levels as is since the soil comes up to the bottom leaves. One plant may be showing preflowers, not sure as i am a newbie, i will post some pics soon.

getting my MH and HPS with a cooltube on Thus, the MH should help with the late veg boost, which means a refit of the tent. I will start cleaning it up and getting rid of water spills ( not been worried as they add to humidity) in prep for flowering. in fact i will do a total tent clean up while i am at it..don't want to give mold etc any free lunches !!!

I want to push the veg stage as long as i can so Sat will be start of week 5, and i hope to veg to end week 6 or even longer then go HPS

Oh and i ordered some liquid Triacontanol, it was dirt cheap and seems to have good scientific backup so lets see if i can get 2oz per plant

Well i have installed the MH 600w with a cooltube and i am very impressed with the cooltube. I have the light about 5 inches away from the plants and the temp is less than with my 300W (x2) CFL's !! In fact at 77 F it is a little cool even with the fan down low !! As a test i had it at 12 inches with no air throughput at it was getting into the mid 80's F before i turned it off. I may even be able to use the clf,s in hang down vertical mode for extra side lighting but 1200 W veg ?? Overkill ? But if the HPS is cooled as well as this i may add Red CFL's at the sides for flowering.

One of the big differences is that the CFL's have big ballasts built into the base which give off a lot of heat, the MH ballast sits outside my tent and is as near as dam it silent but quite warm ...edit.. Hot !!!!

Word of warning for newbies, don't look at he MH directly for too long, it is very bright and i suspect would not be too healthy for your eyesight !!!
Second tip for newbies, if you have bought an MH and an HPS test both are working before you rig up the MH as if the HPS is faulty you may have issues getting it replaced many weeks down the line when you need to use it, my HPS tested OK

I will update the grow log soon hopefully with some impressive progress

A couple of early flower images, using different f-stops for the DOF. I did this with my canon powershot sx 130IS, which is basically a point and shoot, just set to AV ( aperture priority) set the aperture, set to macro, and the canon does the rest. Simplicity !!!

As the flowers develop i will be using my Nikon DSLR with it's dedicated 1:1 macro lens to see if i can get some decent images, but for now the canon is fine and easy to use.
