I just posted about setting up a second tent to run only autos with my main 4x4 being for photos. With the high yields of autoflowers, specifically Mephisto, I'm considering getting away from photos in general.

I was originally attracted to autos because of their ease, but photos seemed to have more flexibility and bigger yields. Now, it seems that things have shifted and while flexibility may still lean towards photos as far as length of veg and some training, the autos are right on with yields, or are surpassing in much less time.

I'd be looking at the same size yields if not more in half the time. To those that run photos and autos, what are your reasons?...or why have you gone full auto?

...I run full auto's dude...have done for a while now, it's the short cycle for me...and all the absolutely excellent breeders/strains that are out there..Mephisto, Dinafem, SeedStockers, Zamnesia, Royal Queen, Dutch Passion and Bomb seeds are just a few of the top breeders producing quality auto's.....I don't think I will ever go back to photoperiod dude....hope this helps:smiley1:

Same for me. Quicker turn around means I can try a different strain every couple of weeks.
I run perpetual auto grow I harvest and replace 2 new plants in every 3 weeks and it's much more fun for me.

..yeah i'm about the same timeline...I just want to grow them all :jump::jump:

I think I'm going to use the 4x4 tent for autos now along with the 2x4. If I want to grow photos, I'll use the 2x4 for two plants. I like what @Ivean brought up about just pulling plants out and putting a new one in. Oddly enough, I never really thought of that, but since the light cycle is always the same, this makes a lot of sense. I just got 22 Mephisto seeds in the mail today, so I'll absolutely go with them in the 4x4 as soon as my current photo grow finishes!

Ive ran a couple photos for the experience but quickly went to all auto. It depends on what you want, if you want a ton of variety rather quickly autos is the way to go. If you want to dial in specific cultivars, pheno hunt, take clones etc etc photos is a better choice.

I went with autos so that I'd have more of a variety of meds on a quicker turnaround time frame. Some quick pics of past grows filling in a 4x4 tent with 4 plants.
