New Grower transplanting tips?

ever notice any stalling/transplant shock from your plants ? i rarely have , auto or photo , could count on one hand how many times ive had transplant shock

even if something has little risk i always play it safe just to be, well , safe lol

peace

No, I never get transplant shock or stunting. I've been transplanting things in the vegetable garden and flower beds for years so just carried those techniques over to my weed plants.

It's not that bad if you get all of the roots in and dont go yanking them and tearing htem. Take as much soil as you can in a big "bowl" with your hands as the shovels... be gentle while digging.. also, water first imo to get the soil to stick and be easier to take a big ball off. Then water the plant as soon as you transplant it. I always feel like that helps the soil edges break up and mix a bit and the root tips might have an easier time spreading since both soils will be equally wet.

oh and do it asap.

i agree with the not yanking and tearing the roots , but , you should be taking ALL of the soil and not shoveling it out with your hands , if you are transplanting that way you are doing so too early and need to wait until you establish a root ball

Woah, woah, woah, woah, fudge.... I definitely don't recommend transplanting by digging her up with your hands, especially when one's trying to do so with as little shock as possible.

I was going to actually edit in that it would be better to try to get the entire pot of soil out but I just didnt lol... I meant if the roots havent really grown much yet like a baby. If the entire pot isnt full of roots, the easy way of watering then turning it upsidedown while holding the plant between your dfinges and then slowly getting the whoole dirtball out would just result in a ton of dirt crushing your seedling

thats why you do it DRY

Could one make something like a paper machea (bad spelling I know!) pot and then just place pot in bigger pot and let the roots grow thru? Similar to a jiffy pot?

One gallon pot is plenty big enough to grow it out completely.

not if its a purple female. im kicking my self for not planting my red poison in a bigger pot such beauitful buds wish i would have thought to put her in a 2-3gallon. and if i got a purple kush female i want to make sure i get the most out of her becasue it could be possible the rest of my regular seeds are males. i dont know the sex yet so only time will tell what happens. if its male then yes your right smokey 1 gallon is plenty enought but if its female a one gallon wont cut it.lol:Sharing One:
