New Grower Trapper's Scrimmage Grow (Semi-Micro)

I like to dry mine in 50-60% hr, i got a humidifier in my dry room to keep it around 50-60% the rule of thumb is the first number in the % plus one day, so its like this if you are drying in 40% HR you take 4+1 day so they will be done around 5 days! i like to dry mine as slow as possible now that i've done a few it tastes alot better IMO, i like 7-8 days if you can make it that long. :peace:

Roger that, good data. THX

Morning Trap,
Looking good.:Sharing One:
I do the paper bag drying method due to our super dry climate.
I'm with IDS on taking longer. Low and slow. Best results.
Check into Boveda packs.
After you properly dry, place a 62% pack into the jar for your cure.
This way you won't have to worry about it while your in vaca.
If it's too moist the pack will absorb it and if too dry it will hydrate it.
Keep 'em growin!

Holy Shit, Ronin....you just made my day...again! Didn't even know
such a device/product existed. If and when my plants make it to that
stage, I now have an option for active control w/o a caretaker.

Nice!

Yea the Boveda packs are the only way to go IMHO. I won't cure without them.
Love their logo, a skunk in a jar.

Peace!

That one suggestion bought my plants like 3 extra days of maturation...maybe 4 depending on how fast stuff will hang dry
in 20% RH and how much extra these packs can handle.

A quick note to re-re-re-re-re-re-iterate that the cheap, 2 prong soil ph meters are not only extremely unreliable but will take years off your life due to stress.

A couple posts ago (prior page) I was beside myself with anxiety because:

A: I had just wake & baked a huge bowl of Romulan x White Widow
B: My soil appeared to be testing at 4.9-5.1 ph when the day before, it was at 6.4-6.5 ph

I freaked, I was searching for answers, I contemplated soaking it with down.

Cut to this evening...

I suddenly remember that whilst generally doting about my grow cab and making sure everything was organized,
I knocked a bottle of Tiger Bloom down into the grow area and it hit my aforementioned, cheapo soil ph meter.
Now as I understand it, these meters measure current traveling between the two prongs in the soil. If the two
prongs are closer together than they should be, the reading is going to be WILDLY inaccurate.

I looked at it and it was visibly nonparallel. I bent it back and low and behold....6.3-6.5 ph.

These things are worse than unreliable, they are sadistically misleading. Some times you just have to learn
by getting your butt handed to you in person. I went in figuring, "I have a budget and this is one of the things
that I can skimp on and still get by" It isn't. If I had trusted that meter enough to make chemical changes,
I'd be much worse off because of it.

Thanks Stick, for being patient with me and pointing me to a workable solution (huh? huh? double entendre?)

I really need to invest in a decent ph meter. I keep tropical fish and I'm using tank water for all my household plants. I have it tested at the fish shop so I know it's always 6.5. They're the only source for ro water too.

Yeah, I won't soon forget that mistake...

You don't have a "fill-your-own" water station at the grocery store? That water is RO'd as well as filtered, activated carboned and disinfected with UV....

There may be places like that somewhere in the UK but I'm in the arse end of nowhere!
