New Grower Trapper's Scrimmage Grow (Semi-Micro)

Okay guys...

As some of you know, I was going to hold off until after my Hawaii trip to start my first grow in ernest.

I couldn't wait that long. So rather than jumping in the pool with both feet, I'm going to do a practice
run with one plant. I just got off Amazon having bought, basically, an entire kit appropriate for a single
plant closet (Semi-Micro) grow. My thinking being that I can use everything I purchased today in subsequent
grows of a larger scale. The Light I bought will move to augmentation status once I go bigger.

So this is the official beginning of my first grow journal. And I'm pretty pumped about it.

My goals for this first "Scrimmage" grow are:

- Keep it cheap (which I already succeeded in doing - $270 for everything minus a couple small items I can get here)
- Get some practice on watering, checking ph, identifying conditions (surpluses and deficiencies) with little overall risk (1 seed)
- To grow a successful, healthy plant and get it hanging BEFORE leaving for Hawaii
- Isolate what LST or screen techniques i will need to/want to use moving forward
- Get some real data about the decisions I have made so far
- Due to limited space...stunt veg and blast flowering

Strain: Sweet Seeds Dark Devil Auto Flowering

Light: Apollo Horticulture GL45LED Full Spectrum 135W LED UFO Light

Soil: Fox Farms Happy Frog (12 Qt. bag)
Miracle-Gro Perlite
Espoma Garden Lime
Great White Mycorrhizae

Nutes: Fox Farms Tiger bloom

Pot: 3 Gallon Air Pot
Sun Blaster Plastic plant tray

Room Supplies:

- 2 Speed Lasko clip fan
- 25ft. of Mylar
- Indoor Temp/Humidity Monitor
- Ratcheting Light hangers
- 7-day Digital light timer
- Fiskars Micro-tip pruning Snips
- ph meter

EDIT: (added to inventory)

- 2 outlet electric air pump
- 25' of tubing (6 ft for water oxygenation/19 ft for Redneck CO2)
- 2X small air stones

Of course there will be little items here and there that I can source locally
and I only got bloom food because I figured the HF would feed most of the
way through veg and I'm looking to stay small anyway.

So what say the powers that be? Do I have the general barebones to get my first AutoGrow going?

Looks good.
Be aware that Miracle grow perlite contains miracle grow plant food.
I've read where folks will rinse it before use.
Just want to let you know either way.
Did you get calibration fluid for the ph meter?
The only thing I don't see that I consider a necessity is a air pump and air stones.
I bubble all my water prior to feeding/watering.
You can get away without it, just something to think about.
Now looks like there is just the question of...When does the bean get dropped?

Looking good so far.I grew Dark Devil and it didn't get real big but the smoke is kickin.Keep in mind that a small percentage of DD will not turn purple but like mine a super dark brown.

Ahh, (RE: MiracleGro Perlite) I should have looked into that, I assumed perlite was perlite and was inert and unmodified.

RE: Water...I was just planning on using the neutral, triple filtered water from the "Fill-Yer-Own" at City Market.

Feel free to advise (via this thread, PM..whatevs) to your heart's content.

As for the seed drop - April 25th barring any shipment issues. Friggen can't wait!

The locals are WAY more chill on the big island not so much open animosity. One of the reasons we go to Kona. "Mahalo!"

Dual outlet air pump (the one you suggested) tubing and 2 air stones inbound!

So grateful for the suggestion...seems oxygenated feed water makes a gigantic difference in the plant's ability to absorb water and nutrients!

ya the private areas can be funky.Im still dying to hit Pipeline though.Id kill to stand that close to the power of something that can bury a frigin Car.And feel it from the beach. I like Kona coffe from there.Not this funky blend crap we get in the states.Kuwai coffe is hands down THEE best imo anywhere.luck you.Be good dude!

DUDE I soo hate you!LOL!(j/k) man Im jealous. nothing like the small cafe n a cup of local brew,a joint n hit the beach with some local brewed teas.Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!:niceshot:dude take a few pics if ya can.I miss that place.I was only there for three days n didnt get to do anything really.I smelled the salt air n got wet but..not a grand time.But I can atleast say I set foot on groud there once.LOL!

I feel very fortunate that the wife and I get to go....Whole family on her side...So my father and mother in law, my wife's sister and her husband, their two kids, me and wife. We just had to come up with a couple grand for groceries. father in law covered the rest. Like I said, we feel very fortunate. It'll be our second time and it's just beautiful.
