New Grower Trapper's Scrimmage Grow (Semi-Micro)

To share my experience, since it almost sounds similar to your's... I dried mine hanging up in my tent for 3 days, and I rotated them so they weren't getting too much fan on either hanger.. Well, 3 days, and the outsides feel like they would crumble off on some of the smaller ones, and my RH hadn't gone about 45% the entire time, so I threw them in the jars with the hygrometers and Bovedas in the mid-morning.. That night, went to bed, humidity was up to 60%-ish.. I wake up the next day, my humidity spiked to almost 80% over night, even with the 60g Boveda!!! I took all of the bud out and sealed the Bovedas back up to make sure they were working right.. I threw all of my buds in a paper bag with the top open, back in my tent with the fan blowing over the top of the bag.. Next morning I woke up, RH of about 40%, threw them in the jars and by that night, both jars were up in the 50's, one almost in the 60's.. Next morning, both jars are resting between 60-62%.. Since then, the only times they went over 65% was when I left a jar in my truck for a couple hours not thinking it was gonna matter, and the temp was at 90F and humidity in the jar was 67%, but when they cooled down, everything normalized again..

Not sure if that helps, or make any sense to you, but figured after reading your stuff that it sounds like almost the same thing happened to you, as it did to me!!

How's it tasting after a few days of normal drying??

It does help because it shows me that it can spike, which it did with me....you also removed and dried with a fan running over the top, something I did today in the jars for an "ultra-burp" ;)

I put all the hygrometers side by side and left them for about an hour....I was dead wrong about them all being on the same page...at least now.

The two little ones were higher than the primary "grow" Hygrometer (with temp) like 8% and 6% higher...

As I am calibrating them with the salt/water technique, they seem to be getting closer to each other the higher up they go now the variance between the three is only 5%
The little ones were in the jar, so there is every reason to believe the two little ones aren't as accurate and are high...they vary 2% to 4% from each other.
We'll see when the salt test is done, which ones are closest to 75% then we'll know which one to trust. :) Thanks, Medi and Chany!

BUT, if the little guys are, in fact, the least accurate then that means my high readings were actually exaggerated and the bud is well within range for common Boveda curing now. 63%-68% aprox.
Regular burping procedure from here on out.

As to taste:

Funny you should mention that....;)

I just pulled out a littler nug and sparked it (very first taste of this mature bud, first real taste of my first, finalized grow). Jesus, first off...hit the head and shoulders within 15 seconds with a nice pain-erasing numbness. And it's been coming on like a freight train for the last 20 minutes.Very high now, as I write this. As to taste...not much to speak of yet, just some nice incense undertones and a slight citrus pop at the back end....notably not harsh or course. Little peppery in the middle. Decent expansion. Scent is fantastic....fresh red grapes and citrus with an undertone of sugar sweetness.

So these are the multi-monitors that I got from the store near me.. I think they were $14 a piece, but they are very accurate, I'd say within 1% for RH and temp is dead on.. The only fluctuation I've seen with the Bovedas in the jars is +/-2% which is fine with me, since it's not enough to worry about messing up the cure.. Mondi is the brand, and they've been doing fine so far.. They have a peak-hold function, too..

And as for the effects; HELL YEAH!!!!!!! :) That's great news!!! Did you by chance get a trich shot??

Yeah, I'll definitely upgrade going forward. Thanks for the data :)

RE: Trichs...no, not this particular bud I'm smoking...If I had to guess based on it's size, it would be 40%/60% Amber/Cloudy. :)

Microscope attachment for the iPhone is packed up or I'd snap a quick pic of the half still unsmoked...

Well, the salt tests for the hygrometers were interesting. The Primary Grow Room Accurite seemed to be the most accurate as it finished out at 74% after about 20 hours in the Tup.

The littler ones are just weird....they were low at the 75% mark at 71% and 72% but were then high (against the Accurite) once removed and placed in ambient...

Accurite was reading 45% and the minis were 49% and 51% respectively...so they got tossed.

Got a Mondi like JT suggested and am Salt testing it now. :) Gifted the gal at the hydro shop a couple grams of the Queen but told her to cure it for at least two weeks...

Sidenote: The Green pheno Pawn #1 is hucking some serious Skunk smell in her box....will be interesting to see what she does with a cure....

Wow!!! I cannot believe there's that much discrepancy between the Accurites!!!! I thought they had a decent reputation, as that's what my normal grow-space monitor is, and my res thermometer!! They all seemed pretty close, so I never questioned their accuracy, but then again, when drying/curing, a few % degrees can make a HUGE difference, versus a 5% humidity shift in veg or flower doesn't mean a whole lot!!!

I like the Mondis so far, and I think you will too!!!! I am going to get another one, since you can drill out the side of a humidome and install it there; something I never had in my humidome was a monitor!!! :)

Dude!!! I'm noticing now that my bud's been in the jars for over a week now, and when I open the jar, the smell is almost the same, but when I break up the bud, it smells WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better and different!! It smells MUCH more skunky and the taste is much sweeter now!!

Derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.. Nevermind.. I misread what you said.. You're comparing TO the Accurite!! lol

"Sir, put the pipe down and walk away.. You have smoked yourself retarded..."

Hey...you caught it....not too high :) You're on track now ;)

Good to hear about how the green pheno matures...can't wait!

Have you placed the hygrometers into a jar with only a Boveda pack?
Having a said RH this should show how far off they are.
Just a suggestion...

I bet since they are high at ambient and low at 75%...they are probably dead on at 62% LOL...

I'll definitely test the mondi at 62% with only boveda, next.:)
