Hey folks, been slow getting going on this thread but the flower room was finally cleared of the autos and the photo flower begun. The last auto run was the first under my diy cob fixture and I'm happy to report that it was a success. The journal is elsewhere on AFN and may be linked in my sig.

My flower tent is the mars hydro 3.3'x3.3'x6'. It's currently running 4x Cree COB cxb3590s, 72v model, 3500k CD bin with passive heatsinks all running off of re-purposed Mars Hydro power supplies.

Currently flowering are 1 berry bomb, 1 blue dream and 1 black russian. These were vegged in 1 gallon pots and kept trimmed down to fit under my t5 then they were potted up to tall 2 gallon pots. They're growing in 75/25 coco/perlite. I'm using 3 part gh flora nutes for the time being. I'm using the liquid koolBloom, FloraNectar, rapid start, Floralicious Plus, Hygrozyme and Liquid Gold.

I'm trying the taller, smaller volume pots this time. I've previously grown in 3 gallon plastic or 5 gallon fabric pots. I didn't dislike my past experiences but I simply want to see how it goes in these ones based on recommendations from others and grow journals I've read.

Canopy temperature is another thing I'm attempting to focus more on after the last run. I think I did well with my temps on the last one but I think I can achieve a little more consistency and we'll see how that goes. So far I've been able to keep it hovering back and forth between 74F and 86F, 24/7. I'm gonna try to let this go this way for the whole first 6 weeks then I'll kill the heat and this will allow it to drop lower in the darkness. I'll be monitoring the temps to make sure I don't have any dangerous swings.

I gradually shifted to 12/12 over a couple of days. I'm not totally sure if that counts as gradual but that's what I did. No 24 hour dark or anything like that, just stepped up the darkness from 6 to 12 hours over 2 nights.

This is a pic after the first full 12/12 day.

The ugly beast in the back right was a berry bomb but it was a gross mutant who couldn't handle my led so I promptly pulled it; it was obvious to me that it wouldn't be worth the trouble.

I was going to put my scrog net on this but the berry bomb stretched so hard and fast on me that I was afraid I would break it putting it on.

2 weeks later, everything is stretched up and filling the whole damn tent.

Got the canopy temp 69-79 for the last couple of days. Hopefully this can be maintained.

So far all the girls are taking 1L of water+calimagic followed by 1L of feed about an hour later. Presently following an approximate L of water/feed per gallon of growing medium per day. As flowering picks up I expect the water requirements to double and maybe even triple. I'm still hand watering so setting up a drip system would be smart but I haven't been sufficiently motivated yet I suppose. Hopefully this cycle will help spark that fire under my butt to get it done.

Very nice!! Who breeds the black Russian?

Black Russian is from Delicious Seeds. I'm hoping it is just that, delicious. It sure looks purdy.

The black russian started off as the largest going into the flower tent but the berry bomb promptly took over that title in the stretch. The berry bomb is clearly the tall pheno and has forced me to adjust my lights. It's very close to one of the cobs even at max height so I may have to make adjustments still in the tent so everyone is happy. I'll grab another pic today when the lights are on.

Very cool....2 seasons ago I tossed up the black russian and the fruity chronic juice from delicious a bunch of times. I ended up choosing the FCJ and both seasons its been a fantastic plant. I'll be watching as much as I can, lots of interest in the Black Russian! Is the Blue Dream HSO?

The Black Russians were freebies, popped 3, kept 1 and this is it. She's a beauty so far though. She had the best growth through veg and was the most resistant to my thrip infestation.

The Blue Dream is HSO, this is the 1 survivor of the 2 I popped. I haven't had much luck with my HSO beans, I've since had 2 more not even survive seedlinghood.

Got my Blue Dream Auto in the POM comp, was hoping she might bring me some CBD seeds but it doesn't look like it'll happen this month. Maybe one of these girls will be able to win me some new genetics.

doing the strech dance good job,mr. real

I've been having a hard time getting this thread caught back up so I'm just going to start getting these pics posted up here in order and quit trying to do everything at once.

Day 25:

You can see here the difficulty in keeping the canopy even.

I introduced PK 13/14 for the first time ever at day 25 and noticed an immediate increase in frost. I'm not sure that I used it entirely properly but I used it through this whole week. These pics are from the middle of the week.

Day 27:
Group Shot - I started spreading the stretched Berry Bomb branches out and bending them down to even out the canopy as best I could. It was not totally successful.

A few close-ups

Black Russian: I love the curly white hairs all over these buds.

Berry Bomb: These were the ones that really frosted up this week!

Blue Dream: These girls started to sprout hairs a lot more vigorously at this point in time.
