New Grower Trichrome color and the affects it seems to produce

I've read many stories about the color of the trichromes being an indication of the type of high/medicinal quality of the end product. As all this is anecdotal, is there any analysis of this to support and/or explain why? I, not having the answer, have speculated that the trichs contain many of the the canibinoids, and that the various state of them, judged by appearance, has some correlation to varying levels of THC, CBD, etc.

Is there a factual explanation?

Don't have a link...but trics are the primary indicator of maturity...First, take into consideration of the strain...indica or sativa or hybrid...I grow medicinal stuff mostly...Thunder Dragon or Stone Dragon... I harvest when trics are all cloudy with a sprinkle of amber...if ya want an UP, harvest when clear...too much amber means more couchlock. Good luck

I am under the impression that trichomes turn amber when the THC they contain begins to deteriorate ... so to my way of thinking the only real reason to wait for amber is to be sure that as many clear trichs have turned cloudy as possible, w/ cloudy being a sign of mature THC ... I loves my weed but I don't need any help feeling sleepy so I aim for cloudy w/ little to no amber ...

For you wait until most of the trichomes are milky.
Some(few) can be clear and amber but most are milky/cloudy.

It should produce an effect that is not too speedy nor narcotic and you know you are stoned.
Quality of high will be determined by strain potential and age of plant too.

When trichomes turn amber I believe the THC does degrade but CBN(medicinal ingredient) increases.
So amber for medicine and cloudy for enjoyment.

It's just the oils and compounds developing, and maturing within the trich heads. Like a fruit ripening and embodying its full texture, aroma, and flavors.

I've found it rare for trichomes to turn amber under LEDs. Trichomes were milky for weeks, let one plant go two extra weeks, no change. But, with autos, I'm finding the plant is telling me when it's done when leaves are yellowing and falling off, the second blast of hairs has mostly changed colors, and the buds are tight and dense. I have a lot less apprehension deciding when to harvest an auto when compared with a photo plant. Photos are a bit more of a guessing game where I'd say you have a bit more leeway to play around.

the thc degrades to cbn not cbd , and from reports ive seen it is good for sleep and migraine/headache relief for people who suffer from chronic migraines

What is y'all's thought on this concept...
Peak potency for the plant is 100% or as close to all milky as possible..(before the thc starts degrading) And If your looking for certain medicinal properties grow a plant that suits ur needs.. For example don't grow a sativa and wait for 50/50 amber mix to achieve a couch lock sleepy high.. You would want an indica Dom. Strain and vise versa for indica... Don't pull her with clear trichs bc u want a more social creative type buzz... Grow a sativa.. Guess what I'm getting at is there really a need to let it go till amber if ur looking for quality not quantity? And your growing the right strain for the application needed?
