Harvest & Curing trichromes viewing tool

mine don't look like that picture. my 420 scope is a painfully difficult to see image through. maybe mine is damaged. id like to try the one in your picture. trying to look through a miniature scope isn't working for me. my image doesn't even stay still. I see it then I chase it. all I get is a fast glimsp if im lucky.

you know and if all fails just wait until all hairs are brown. it will be good.

Seen some that use a usb scope.

Except that in some strains the pistils don't turn all turn brown. Or when they do, the bud and it's trichomes have started to degrade.

Is this personal experienced or where did that thought came from? I do think if still pistils appear there is still resin production going on. Every pistil has a calyx added and this calys is swelling up an bearing resin.

I'm currently on my first grow so not much first-hand experience, but from everything I've read on here and on other forums/cannabis grow sites it's fairly common for pistil development/coloration not to be considered a reliable determining factor of trichome readiness/bud ripeness on their own. Taken in context with other signs (gradual yellowing out of fan leaves, etc), sure - but on it's own not so much. Do a google search for "pistils not changing color" and you'll see tons of threads from many boards and sites dealing with that exact issue, and many comments asserting that pistil color isn't an across-the-board indicator of when to harvest.

And to be clear - I agree with you re: pistils continuing to appear being a sign of continued resin production. My comment was specifically referring to the bit I quoted about the browning of pistils.

all good @ANTiFA i go by the guts :d5: the safest way

Right on man. Whatever works, you know? And if any of what I said came off as dickish or anything like that, it was totally unintentional. I'm far from an expert - just going by what I've read. Personally, I more or less agree with you - based on my own grow going on at the moment I'd say that pistil color is a pretty good indicator of harvest readiness. I'd just be hesitant to put complete faith in it, you know?
