New Grower trim leaves during budding

I'm with you I cringe everytime I try to get my hand around these fat buds... but this's what I'm workin with ...what would the difference be had I not trimmed? I've never not trimmed... kinda new to this stuff and I started trimming with my first plant haven't had time to read all the posts on how to grow some even bigger buds but I'll look into yours
*the buds pictured are 17" long - apx 5-6 of them, then the 12" buds from there and so on

your plants are impressive , thats not up for debate , what is though is the fact that it could simply be genetics used and not method , ive yet to try this strain , but your grow reports have me wanting to ;)

also , and this isnt an attack or diss , what i see is not one big bud that you try to wrap your hands around , but a bunch of small ones grouped together that once "properly" trimmed and de-stemed will have zero real nugs and zero bag appeal , but hey thats a sativa for ya lol

i had a pic of a australian sativa (rainbow dreaming) bud i grew , some seen it (i dont post many pics) its huge looking , but honestly it was not one big nug , it was a billion tiny ones grouped together , i neatly trimmed it to look good for a bud of the month comp , once the pic was taken i properly destemed and trimed it leaving not one real nug , in the pic my hand was only able to go half way around it

someone at this site actually posted that pic to me asking about it , if you read this post could you please post it here , ill try to find it , but almost positive ive deleted it off my pc

peace

bummer I just grew a bunch of nothing "zero real nugs and zero bag appeal" oh well live and learn...hey I need a break gonna smoke some zero weed ...hey it's all I got but I got alot

found it , but photobucket has changed on me , hopefully this works

now remember , this bud looked like yours before i trimmed it all pretty looking , i also had to squeeze it to remove the airyness , imagin how big it looked on the plant before being squeezed , it dwarfed yours

peace

dude , dont take it the wrong way , its not how i mean it , maybe im just bad with words , too blunt ect

peace

p.s , that pic i posted , the bud looked like crap once i fully trimed and de-stemed it , it was great smoke , but had zero bag appeal , which is important in some situations

Easy gentlemen. Good opinions, good advice(from both sides of the debate!), interesting stuff. Doubt there can be a definitive answer(due to strain, growing style/conditions, experience etc). I doff my cap t`both of ya...cos you both make valid points! :smokebuds:

only makes sence to me ...that's the way my granny taught me (might as well bring her in on it)
and from reading 'secrets the 'pro's' don't want you to know about' book and seeing the end results was my guide
